Coronavirus Lockdown: Heritage Front-Liners, Suob, and more

More news from the coronavirus ECQ's and GCQ's and MGCQ's around the nation.

More people are out begging for change because the lockdown drained them of all their cash and the Sap funds are simply not enough.

https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/news/metro/739722/blind-lola-begs-amid-pandemic-for-orphaned-grandkids/story/
A 70-year-old grandmother spends her days begging for change along Amang Rodriguez Avenue in Pasig City in order to feed her three grandchildren who were orphaned by their mother.
According to 24 Oras report by Mark Makalalad on Monday, Cindy Carigitan is accompanied by her grandchild Lea as she begs for help from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
Carigitan said she received aid from the government’s amelioration program but she had to use up those funds to pay for the burial expenses of her late daughter.
In this sad case it seems the mother left no savings behind so the grandmother had to use the SAP funds not for food but for burial expenses.  Sad.

You know Recto U right?  That's the place in Manila where you can get any document you want.

https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1281464/quarantine-passes-latest-recto-u-specialty
Seven people were charged on Tuesday with falsification and using falsified documents following their arrest for fabricating and selling fake government identification cards that give quarantine exemptions.
Graphic designer Johnny Perez and six other men were caught on Monday in an entrapment operation by the Manila Police District’s Sampaloc station at a small shop in a building on Recto Avenue.
The area has acquired the unenviable reputation through the years for hosting clandestine shops specializing in document forgery. Located on Manila’s University Belt, it has been derisively called “Recto University” for churning out a wide array of fake diplomas, bogus school records and even ready-made term papers.
The charges against the seven suspects were filed in the Manila City Prosecutor’s Office.
The IDs seized by the police have the logo of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and identical IATF-EID quick response (QR) codes. The QR codes are supposed to be unique to help the authorities match the identity of the bearer to the person authorized to carry the ID.

Police Lt. Col. John Guiagui, Sampaloc station commander, said the group might have started fabricating the fake IDs after the start of the enhanced community quarantine imposed by the government on Luzon in mid-March to stop the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Guiagui said officers seized around 50 IDs with names and addresses of persons from Manila and Quezon City, and as far away as Cavite and Laguna provinces.
Obviously the QR codes are not sopping counterfeiters.

In this series about coronavirus news I have focused on local news.  But Fil-Ams have been active too.

https://usa.inquirer.net/55289/fil-am-designer-gets-busy-making-masks-distributing-donations
While most clothing retail businesses have stopped for a while and mass gatherings such as fashion shows have been put on hold, Filipino American fashion designer Kenneth Barlis has remained busy producing masks and distributing donations.
“It’s like having this adrenaline rush going through my veins to think fast, and act fast to help others in any way I can.’’
People have jumped at the chance to wear designer masks that have been seen on celebrities, music videos and covers of magazines such as Vogue and Cosmopolitan.
“As of today, we have shipped Kenneth Barlis masks to 51 states and also in Canada! Super exciting!,” the designer beams.
Designer masks?  Never let a crisis go to waste!

Another COVID-19 clinic run by Chinese doctors was raided.

https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1281579/cops-nab-2-chinese-doctors-operating-illegal-covid-19-clinic-in-makati
In a report on Wednesday, Police Major Gideon Ines Jr., chief of Makati Police Station Investigation and Detective Management Section, identified the suspects as David Lai, 49, the head doctor, and Liao Songhua, 41, the assistant doctor of the clinic.
Ines said the arrest came after the Makati Police in coordination with Felipe Albayda Jr. of Makati Health Department Incident Management Team Task Force COVID-19 inspected the Goldstar Medical Clinic, which is located at the 5th floor of a building along Sampaloc Street in San Antonio Village. The inspection was made after authorities received reports of a Chinese doctor treating Chinese nationals who are suspected to be coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients.
Ines said they also found four Chinese patients in the clinic. They were referred to the Makati Health Department.
Seized during the inspection were rapid test kits allegedly used to detect the coronavirus, swab sticks, vials, syringes, and multiple boxes of Chinese medicine that are not registered with the Food and Drug Administration, police said.
This illegal clinic was discovered after the PNP received reports about medical waste being collected by housekeeping. A third illegal COVID-19 run by and catering to the Chinese was found in Angeles City.

https://www.rappler.com/nation/262258-mayor-nbi-bust-illegal-chinese-pharmacy-angeles-city-may-28-2020
Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr, with the assistance of National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and officers of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), raided an alleged illegal Chinese pharmacy in the tourist area of Barangay Anunas in the city on Thursday, May 28.
“An illegal underground medical facility in Korean Town, Barangay Anunas was shut down on May 28, 2020, as Angeles City Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr., in coordination with National Bureau of Investigation, Food and Drug Administration and Philippine National Police, raided the makeshift medical facility, where two Chinese nationals were arrested,” the city information office said in its Facebook post.
The drug store, which apparently lacked FDA permit to operate, was allegedly selling Chinese-labeled medicines and medical products.
Media reports said that COVID-19 testing kits were also confiscated during the raid.
There are certainly more illegal clinics to be found and the NBI is hot on the trail to find them all.

PhilHealth has not been paying premiums which is bad news for hospitals.

More than 300 small private hospitals are in danger of closing down due to the impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 pandemic and the failure of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) to release insurance claims, the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines Inc. (PHAPi) revealed.
Rustico Jimenez, president of the 744-member PHAPi, said some members have already partially stopped operations, with only the emergency rooms still open.
“Among our members, about 50 percent are about to close,” Jimenez said in an interview with “The Chiefs” aired on One News/TV 5 on Wednesday night.
“There are many factors,” he explained. “Number one, there are only a few patients going to non-COVID facilities because they are scared. Coupled with that is the much delayed payment from PhilHealth.
Jimenez said only 46 percent of their members have so far received the payment that PhilHealth said it had advanced.
372 hospitals are about to close because people are too scared to go to the hospital because of COVID-19 and because PhilHealth is not paying their premiums. Remember PhilHealth is who will be running Universal Health Care. PhilHealth denies all these allegations.

Just like with martial law in Mindanao between 2017-2019 the crime rate has dropped during the ECQ lockdown.
Interior Secretary Eduardo Año described as "positive" the effect of the COVID-19 crisis on peace and order in the Philippines.
Crime incidents across the country went down by 60 percent since the community quarantine to contain the spread of the virus was implemented, he said.
Año reported that crimes committed in the country have decreased from March 17 to May 27, compared to January 5 to March 16
Before the lockdown, criminal cases in the country reached 11,004, but went down to 4,479 as of Wednesday.
Of course when you force people to stay home or face arrest for two months crime will certainly decline. As soon as the lockdowns lift crime will rise again. Is that really a net positive? Is there realy a gain here?

Corruption is a way of life in the Philippines. But sometimes there is a little light shining through the clouds.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1104348
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) said a total of PHP19,524,300 excess social amelioration program (SAP) fund was returned to the agency.
Marami ang nagbalik (Many [local government units] have returned excess funds),” Leo Quintilla, regional director of the DSWD-CAR said in a press conference on Thursday.
"This is part of good governance that the LGUs followed the guidelines," Quintilla said.
He said the LGUs returned the excess fund because they have already distributed the cash aid to the low-income families in their respective areas.
This is good.  Hopefully LGUs across the nation can keep up this kind of honesty.

Testing for COVID-19 is important.  But what if you want to do it home?
https://www.philstar.com/nation/2020/05/31/2017677/ex-actress-nabbed-selling-covid-test-kits
A former actress and model was arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Friday for the unauthorized sale of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) rapid test kits worth P70,000.
Avigail Siwa was arrested at an entrapment operation in Intramuros, Manila after a businesswoman reported her to authorities for estafa.
Siwa advertised on social media that she was selling four brands of COVID rapid test kits for a “home service COVID testing.”
Jessielyn Fernando told the NBI she paid P4.4 million as downpayment for 10,000 sacks of rice that did not arrive.
Siwa, in a television interview, said Fernando still owed her money for the order.
She said she ran a medical trading equipment company which is registered with the Department of Trade and Industry.
NBI international operations division chief Ronald Aguto said Siwa was not authorized by the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) to sell rapid test kits.
Don't do it.  Just go to the hospital.

Part of the new normal due to the virus will be homeschooling. This idea is not sitting well with some parents.

https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/news/nation/740400/parents-wary-of-deped-s-homeschool-system/story/
The shift to online classes and blended learning this coming academic year due to the COVID-19 pandemic is making some parents wary, according to a report by Mark Salazar on "24 Oras."
They feel they might not be up to the challenge of the new system where the home will serve as the school, and the parents as teachers or tutors.
Another parent, April Lim, wonders how they can get linked to the new method of learning, which will sometimes entail online activities.
She said the added expense for mobile load to have internet connection is not part of the household budget.
Meanwhile, Michael Cruz expressed doubts that he and his wife could assist their child in the online class because they are occupied in making a living for the family.
He also said that instead of using the internet for school works, his kid might use it for mobile games.
Many Filipinos do not have a computer but connect to the internet through phones or tablets. They also pay a little at a time using loads. Doing school through the internet will cost them money they cannot pay. Many parents are also busy working and have no time to act as teachers.

Can suob cure COVID-19?

https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/lifestyle/healthandwellness/740242/what-is-suob-or-steam-therapy-and-does-it-help-cure-covid-19/story/
The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that a cure or vaccine for the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has not yet been developed.
However, some Filipinos have been saying “suob” or steam therapy helps, but what is the truth behind this?
In a special online series titled “Survivors,” professional basketball player Chris de Chavez and his family shared how they won their battle against COVID-19 with the help of suob.
Chris’ mother, a chief nurse at a hospital in New Jersey, suddenly fell ill one night.
Since her mother was a medical frontliner, they knew right away that she was possibly infected with COVID-19.
The rest of the family eventually felt COVID-19 symptoms as well, such as flu and body aches.
Despite feeling sick, Chris and his father fought it and forced themselves to exercise.
According to Chris’ father Jun, suob also helped them recover.
Suob or steam therapy is done by inhaling salt water on a basin while using a piece of cloth, such as a towel, to cover one’s head and shoulders and enclose the steam.
Jun learned this cure from his mother in Batangas when he was young.
The De Chavez family claimed that suob helped them decongest their lungs.
A week after getting infected, the family felt better.
However, pediatric pulmonologist and sleep specialist Dr. Rolando dela Eva said there was no strong evidence to prove that steam therapy helps cure COVID-19.
Wow! Inhaling salt water steam cures COVID-19?  Oh wait! Nowhere do these people say they were actually diagnosed with COVID-19! These people say they only thought they had it. Big difference.

Every industry in the Philippines has been hit hard by the lockdown and many want the government to ban them out. This includes the entertainment industry.

https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1283335/ph-show-biz-cries-sos
The country’s film and entertainment industry on Friday appealed to the government to come to its aid as the COVID-19 pandemic rendered its 865,000 workers jobless and was expected to result in revenue loss of P100 billion for the sector this year.
Liza Diño-Seguerra, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chair, said the closure of movie theaters, concert halls, bars, hotels and other venues since March 14 had brought the entire entertainment industry to its knees.
She noted that a study done by the National Economic Development Authority revealed that the arts, entertainment and recreation sector was the “hardest-hit business sector,” eclipsing the devastating economic effects of the pandemic on tourism.
“We humbly pray that our industry will be given space in the economic stimulus package that our esteemed legislators are working so hard for,” Seguerra said during a seven-hour online Senate hearing.
Seguerra said the FDCP had distributed a total of P20 million in financial subsidy to freelancers, artists and other members of the audio-visual industry, who each received up to P8,000.She said the Department of Budget and Management did not grant its request for a P50-million budget for the subsidy.
Since four out of five workers in the entertainment industry were considered self-employed and members of the informal sector, she said they were not able to benefit from the cash aid from the Department of Labor and Employment and the Social Security System.
Seguerra said workers in the movie industry would need cash subsidies for at least six months.
The entertainment industry is harder hit then than the tourist industry! But TV shows and movies are really part of a synthetic culture. They aren't exactly part of the intangible heritage of a nation.

https://lifestyle.inquirer.net/363504/pandemic-shows-need-for-heritage-front-liners/
Just like health front-liners, there should be heritage front-liners during pandemics and disasters.
This was the call of cultural heritage planners and advocates in the online conference, “That Thing Called Pamana,” organized by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and Filipinas Heritage Festival Inc. recently to mark May as National Heritage Month.
Cultural heritage proved “essential” in making people cope with anxieties while on lockdown, said Arvin Manuel Villalon, consultant for cultural mapping of the NCCA and a member of the Technical Pane for Cultural Education of the Commission on Higher Education.
He explained that during the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), people turned to Christianity and rituals because “religion is an intangible cultural heritage.”
Villalon said cultural heritage could also help in “normalizing” the situation post-new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).“Heritage is one way of restoring normalcy,” he said. “Heritage comes from a sense of identity and rootedness.”
“Religion brings back old memories and they bring back normalcy,” he declared.
Villalon cited the cancelation of the Panagbenga flower festival in his hometown of Baguio City.
He said the locals didn’t mind because Panagbenga was a mere tourist showcase.
But there was no canceling Holy Week and Easter for Baguio City, Villalon said. He said locals closely followed the Holy Week observances through the Internet. Villalon explained that “synthetic celebrations” like Panagbenga cater only to tourists.
“The test of celebratory events is if the community values them,” he said.
A psychologist and art dealer and curator, Robillos emphasized the importance of “intangible cultural heritage” such as religious rituals, literature and communal dances, practices, and observances in providing “healing” or “therapy” to cope with the stress of the lockdown.
He said that galleries and museums provided “virtual tours” of their collections, classified as “tangible cultural heritage,” during the ECQ.
Robillos added that even one town in Bulacan province held a virtual parade or religious procession that fostered communal “solidarity” during the pandemic.
When everyone is forced inside and mass gatherings are prohibited it is impossible to participate in the "intangible cultural heritage" of a nation. You can't worship online. Worship is a full body and communal experience. You also cannot transfer the culture of a people to the internet. They don't really say what a cultural frontliner is or would do but only stress the importance of cultural heritage during trying times.

What better way to stop the spread of COVID-19 then to decongest the cites? Duterte is actually paying people to do just that.

https://www.bloombergquint.com/global-economics/duterte-is-paying-filipinos-to-move-from-city-to-countryside
The coronavirus pandemic is giving Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte a reason to reduce overcrowding in Manila, which in recent decades has swelled into one of the most heavily populated areas on Earth.
Duterte is offering cash and goods to induce city-dwellers to move out of the greater capital region in an ambitious program called “Back to the Province,” one of the most aggressive attempts in decades to lure Filipinos to the countryside. With the pandemic exposing how swift population growth and urban migration have overstretched Manila’s transport, utility and health services, the government is now attempting to alter long-entrenched patterns of labor mobility.
Families approved for the program can receive as much as 110,000 pesos ($2,173) in money and goods. Almost 60,000 people have applied since the plan began in mid-May, Escalada said, with priority given to the unemployed, homeless and those living in disaster-prone areas. Thousands more are believed to have left Manila in the days leading up to the lockdown, sometimes with help from non-profit groups.
The big challenge will be finding work in the countryside, with the program at risk of becoming a temporary solution for many until the economy recovers.
Will relocating people to the provinces be a viable solution to the pandemic? At least with forcing people to work online they are still working. Finding a job outside the city might be difficult and a "temporary solution for many until the economy recovers." So much window dressing in attempting to find a solution.

Insurgency: Mortar Shelling

The AFP has good numbers to report again this week with the surrender of more than 200 NPA terrorists.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1103831
A total of 119 communist terrorists have voluntarily surrendered as a result of "intense military operations" from May 17 to 23, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said Monday.
Of this number, 36 surrendered in the Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom) area, one was killed, and three were apprehended; 82 surrendered in the Northern Luzon Command (Nolcom), and one surrendered and another was killed in the operational area of the Southern Luzon Command (Solcom).
"(This is a) combination of focused military operations, CMO (civil-military operations), and extensive support from the local populace. The program under the NTF-ELCAC (National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict) that benefitted other returnees further encouraged other rebels to return to the fold of the law," Zata said.
In South Cotobato and Sarangani provinces 108 NPA rebels surrendered.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1104277
A total of 108 more New People’s Army (NPA) rebels operating in South Cotabato and Sarangani provinces surrendered to government authorities in the last two weeks, the most number for the area in recent years.
Brig. Gen. Michael John Dubria, Police Regional Office (PRO)-12 director, said Friday the rebels yielded voluntarily to police and Army personnel starting May 15 following a series of negotiations.
Dubria said the series of surrenders were done in coordination with concerned local government leaders, through the Task Forces to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (TF-ELCAC).
Dubria, who joined the presentation of the surrenderers in Sarangani on Thursday, said NPA units in the area were “continuously weakening as some of (their) leaders are returning to the folds of the law.”
The 44 returnees in Sarangani, who were led by a certain “Tiger,” surrendered over a dozen high-powered firearms, assorted ammunition, explosives, NPA emblems, and subversive documents.
One rebel who surrendered had been fighting for 11 years.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1104377
A 27-year-old man, a New People’s Army (NPA) combatant for 11 years, has voluntarily surrendered to Philippine Army troops in Cauayan, Negros Occidental, the 15th Infantry Battalion (15IB) reported on Friday.
The former rebel, identified as Albert Yanong Alon, alias “Butsoy”, was a platoon leader of the North Negros Front (NNF) and a squad leader of SYP/SDG Platoon of the southwest Front (SWF), operating in the area of Barangay Sangke in his hometown of Hinoba-an.
“After many years, he has realized that the Communist Party of the Philippines - New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) only used him for their vested interests. He has no respectable future if he continues to stay, and like the previous surrenderers, it is not too late for him to live peacefully with his family,” Cariño said.
According to the 15IB, Alon was recruited by the CPP-NPA in 2009 when he was only 16.
He joined the armed group, believing that being part of the organization would resolve his social concerns, particularly land issues.
Alon’s experience as a seasoned combatant made him a platoon leader of an independent unit operating in northern and southern Negros in 2012.
“During my years in the struggle trying to destroy the government, I have not seen freedom, equality, and peace. When our comrades die, their families do not receive any assistance and benefits from the organization,” he said.
Alon added that with the assistance of the 15IB, he could start over with his family without fear.
Recruited at 16 and he thought joining would resolve his concerns about land issues? What 16 year old is thinking about land issues? Alon is right that he can now start over without fear, without fear of government prosecution that is. All these people who surrendered will now be able to avail of the government's E-CLIP program which includes free housing, cash, and training.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1104183
At least 45 rebel returnees in South Cotabato province will undergo technical-vocational (tech-voc) training through the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
The beneficiaries are all indigenous peoples (IP) and former members of the NPA’s militia organization who surrendered early this month in Barangay Ned, Lake Sebu town in South Cotabato, he said.
Abrogar said the former rebels will be trained under the agency's IP Empowered as Agripreneurs towards a Collective End (IPEACE), which is among the priority programs of TESDA Director General Secretary Isidro Lapeña.
“This is centered on providing appropriate (tech-voc training) programs for the IPs, especially on agriculture,” Abrogar said.
Many of these surrenders are the result of local peace talks. Some of those involved with the peace talks are former rebels. Recently three such peace builders were abducted by the NPA.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1104301
The Philippine Army has condemned the New People’s Army (NPA) over the abduction of three former rebels turned “peacebuilders” in an upland community in Motiong, Samar early Wednesday.
Lt. Col. Reynaldo Balido Jr., commander of the Army’s 87th Infantry Battalion said the abduction of a father and his two sons is a heinous crime and against the International Humanitarian Law.
"We vehemently condemn this barbaric act of the NPA terrorists. They have victimized non-combatants. They abducted people who are working for peace in the locality," said Balido in a statement issued on Friday.
The communist terrorists abducted Cosme Cabangunay and his sons Jevie and Jason around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday in Canvais village in Motiong, Samar.
The trio are members of Motiong Peacebuilders, an organization of former rebels who joined the peace and development efforts of the government.
A whole organization of former rebels turned peace builders.  How many are there? Hopefully these men will be found unharmed.

Remember a few weeks ago when the AFP claimed they found birth control pills in an NPA hideout? They claim that such a find is proof of sexual abuse of women in the NPA. This week they found more birth control pills in an NPA hideout.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1103830
Birth control pills were among the personal items recovered by Philippine Army troops inside the lair of New People’s Army (NPA) in a remote village of Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental over the weekend.
Photos of three stubs of oral contraceptive tablets were released by the 303rd Infantry Brigade (IBde) on Saturday afternoon, a day after soldiers of 94th Infantry Battalion engaged communist-terrorists in a firefight in Barangay Buenavista and found their hideout in the area.
Col. Inocencio Pasaporte, commander of 303IBde, said in a statement on Sunday that the recovery of birth control pills is an indication of sexual abuse suffered by female NPA members and recruits.
“It clearly manifests the ongoing and rampant sexual abuses among their ranks especially by NPA commanders against their female members,” he added.
Pasaporte reiterated his call on the female NPA combatants to abandon the armed struggle and go home to their respective families.
“Don’t let the NPA leaders take advantage of you. They are just making you their sex slaves,” he added.
On April 23, troops of 20IB also found boxes of birth control pills inside an NPA hideout in an upland village of Catubig, Northern Samar.
Also on October 22 last year, soldiers of 88IB recovered some contraceptive pills, condoms, and pornographic materials from another NPA hideout in the forested area of Barangay Kibongkog, San Fernando, Bukidnon.
Earlier this month, two pregnant NPA medics surrendered to the 23IB in Buenavista town, Agusan del Norte.
If you zoom in on the picture in this article you can see they name of the pills are "levonorgestrel ethinyl estradiol" so these really are birth control pills.  But that does not mean the NPA is making their female members their sex slaves. That's a pretty big leap to make.  The NPA denies such allegations.

http://www.visayandailystar.com/2020/May/28/topstory10.htm
The Apolinario Gatmaitan Command of the New People’s Army strongly debunked military claims of alleged sexual abuses on female members and recruits of the New People’s Army and dismissed it as “age-old lies brought out of the blue and downright illogical”.
Ka Juanito Magbanua, spokesperson of the Apolinario Gatmaitan Command, said in a statement on Tuesday that the NPA strictly adheres to the “3-8” or “tres-otso”, or three main rules of discipline and eight points for attention, which includes a point against the exploitation of women.
Magbanua also said that romantic relationships and marriage are considered as serious matters for the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and the NPA, stressing that their comrades and the masses are educated in family planning.
Magbanua explained that the People's Democratic Government has several statutes that involve the respect of women's rights and their emancipation. In the NPA, women are treated equally with men, and enjoy every right the same as a male comrade.
He alleged that it is the AFP, PNP with their commander-in-chief Rodrigo Duterte at the helm, who have consistently violated women's rights.
He said some of their misogynistic feats include Duterte's command of “shooting the NPA fighters directly in the vagina” among other various rape jokes.*
Perhaps they do, perhaps they don't. Maybe it's all just propaganda.  Maybe it's not.  What's not propaganda, but could be uses a such, is the real death of 3 children from a mortar shelling.

https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1280757/2-children-killed-15-wounded-from-mortar-shelling-in-maguindanao-on-eidl-fitr
Two girls aged 10 and seven years old were killed by a mortar that landed on their house in a village of Datu Saudi Ampatuan town, Maguindanao in the afternoon of Sunday, as the Muslim world observed Eid’l Fit’r.
Aslamiya Tambak, 10, and her sister Asnaida Tambak, 7, were watching television with their mother Noraisa, when the mortar shell went through the roof of their house in Kitango village, Datu Saudi Ampatuan town past 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Shards from the mortar hit the girls and wounded their mother and five-year-old brother Norsaid.
It was not clear how many houses were hit in the area but village officials said there were a number of mortar shells that hit the village on Sunday, wounding a total of 15 people.
Among the five who were wounded and admitted in the hospital was five-year-old boy Datu Juhad Singh.
It's not clear how many houses were hit but there were a number of shells that hit the village? Locals claim that the AFP regularly shell civilians to flush out the BIFF.

http://davaotoday.com/main/human-rights/moro-groups-blame-military-for-deaths-of-two-children-in-eidl-fitr/
Moro human rights group hold the military accountable for the reported mortar shelling during Eidl Fitr celebration Sunday in a village in Datu Saudi Ampatuan town in Maguindanao that killed two children and injured several others.
The incident happened around 3:15 on May 24, which hit the house of Sayyid Tambak in Barangay Kitango that caused the deaths of his children Aslamiya Tambak age 10, and Asnaida Tambak 7. Their mother was injured as well as twelve other relatives.
Kawagib Moro Human Rights reported that at least four 81 millimeter mortar shells landed in the village, as villagers reported that the military was conducting shelling to “flush out” the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) in communities in Maguindanao.
Kawagib also cited a report from the Ministry of Social Service and Development in Maguindanao province that more than 6,000 individuals were forced to evacuate due to a series of mortar shelling in the town of Datu Saudi Ampatuan.
The AFP’s 6th Infantry Division denied conducting military operations on May 24 in observance of Eidl Fitr that marked the end of the month-long Ramadhan.
But another Moro group, Suara Bangsamoro, condemns the long history of military operations that have targeted civilians instead in Moro communities.
“Even though [the military] says that they are pursuing what the government called terrorist elements of BIFF, however, it is the civilian Moro that is widely hit due to the use of airstrikes and mortar shelling in communities claiming to have [BIFF’s] presence,” Suara Bangsamoro spokesperson Jun Naga said.
The AFP regularly shells Moro villages to flush out terrorists!? If that is true that is messed up!

The God Culture: Noah Landed on Mt. Everest

The God Culture is just awful.  In video after video Timothy Jay Schwab leads his listeners down a rabbit hole of lies. By the end of each video one is either deeply impressed by Tim's profuse knowledge of scriptural arcana and occult history or saddened that so many people are stupid enough to be snookered into believing anything he has to say.

In this article I want to look at video number 5 in his Flood Series.

https://youtu.be/48-XtI0JAIs

There is so much misinformation in this video it is incredible. In this short space I cannot possibly break it down bit-by-bit and give it the proper attention and justice it deserves. For that I would have to write a book. Instead I will take a look at a few items which are either lies or just plain outrageous or maybe even both.

First it is necessary to understand Tim's cosmogony.  He believes the Earth is flat and that there were no oceans before the flood.  During the flood the great waters of the deep burst forth and the waters in the heavens rained down. The waters from the deep receded into the bowels of the earth and the waters from heaven remained forming the oceans. This is why he believes the undersea trenches are the river system of The Garden of Eden which is now submerged somewhere off the coast of the Philippines. It is also why he does not believe in plate tectonics.
6:19  For those espousing pangaea, or really Pan Gaia, an occult religious belief not science, the hydroplate theory which relies on the false science of moving plates floating on magma smashing to gather understand that at 1,000 miles per hour at the equator such chaotic motion would never lead to a separation of continents but the opposite.  It would lead to there only being one continent and it would be a mountain all the way into space likely.  Accusing Yahuah of creating such chaos is a lack of faith truly and certainly not a Biblical perspective.
Elsewhere Tim says plate tectonics is unproven.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jAQ08tJUpY&lc=Ugyl6Q3FI3sHj2ocu8d4AaABAg
We have but we reject the unproven science of moving plates floating on magma nor liquid. If we have such, a simple scientific test would tell us there would only be 1 continent and it would be a mountain into space with the earth moving at 1000 mph at the equator. No one has ever observed such. Furthermore, Moses speaks of the ancient mountains and lasting hills meaning from before the Flood. Land didn't move, it got carved out by mega tsunamis and rapid erosion. Yahuah God Bless.
The amount of ignorance here is astounding and the person Tim is replying to points that out.  I do not intend to delve into geology as there are plenty of places on the internet that explain plate tectonics and sea floor spreading and much more.  It is certainly not an unproven science.  It is a theory that fits all the observable facts. Tim has no idea what he is talking about. He is not a geologist or a scientist of any kind. Where does he get the idea that if plate tectonics were true there would be one continent reaching into space? On what calculations is he basing that nonsense?  He does not say.

For Tim having a Biblical perspective means something different than what it means for others. Usually to have a Biblical perspective means you believe God is in control, he created the world, Christ is risen, all things work for the good, and things like that.  For Tim it means if something is not explicitly in the Bible then it's not true.
9:22  But here we place scripture above false claims and the claims of man. If it cannot be proven from scripture throw it out.
This sentence is loaded with irony as Tim makes countless false claims and even defends those claims using scripture. Over-literalism of the Bible is going to lead you down a wrong path. I cannot prove from the scripture that Timothy Jay Schwab exists. Does that mean he does not exist?  I cannot prove from scripture many things that are true such as mathematics, Chinese history, and science of all kinds. Does that mean math is false and that the Chinese have no history? No, and the idea is absurd.

Robert Terry, who Tim is replying to in the Youtube comment above, replies with the following comment:
The hydroplate theory is far superior to what you have to offer. For starters- You use a “the Bible must be right” sort of reasoning to “prove” science right or wrong. This is faulty reasoning! You will likely push more people away then convince with logic like this. Frankly, you sound like a brainwashed lunatic! Don’t get me wrong, I personally believe the Bible is right..... However, I favor a more intelligent line of reasoning: what we observe “scientifically”, lines up perfectly with what the Bible says. Therefore “proving” (a term you throw around a little to freely) the Bible correct.
Robert is correct.  You cannot use the bible to prove if science is right or wrong as it is not a science text book. He is also right that Tim throws the word "proving" around way too freely. Tim makes claims of all kinds and then says he has now proven this or that claim. But he hasn't proven anything except that he is too willing to jump to conclusions that are unwarranted.

15:59 Before the British had the audacity to rename the tallest mountain on earth (The nerve! I mean who thinks they have the right to rename such an icon) it was called in Sanskrit and still is today in Nepal Sagarmatha which has a meaning which just cannot be possible. Can it? It means, get this, head of the ocean or forehead of the sea or sky. What? How can that be? Forehead of the sky? Ok. Certainly. That's fine. Makes sense. But forehead or head of the ocean? Where would that originate? Well that's pretty easy as the Bible just told you twice this was the case. This was where the ark landed.
Practically all of that is a lie. Sagarmatha is not an ancient name for Mt. Everest. It is a name invented by the Nepalese government recently. At least according to Walt Unsworth who is referenced on the Mt. Everest Wikipedia page.

https://www.amazon.com/Everest-Mountaineering-History-Walt-Unsworth/dp/0898866707

Tim's source for his claims is not actually listed on his slide.  Only half of the link is given.  The full link is https://www.cs.mcgill.ca/~rwest/wikispeedia/wpcd/wp/m/Mount_Everest.htm. Why not just use the regular Wikipedia page instead of the Wiki archive at the above link? It does not make sense. Even that strange page tells us that the name Sagarmatha was invented in the 1960's!
In Nepal, the mountain is called Sagarmatha (सगरमाथा, Sanskrit for "Head of the Ocean"); this name was invented in the early 1960s (by Baburam Acharya) when the Nepalese government realized that Mount Everest had no Nepalese name. This was because the mountain was not known and named in ethnic Nepal (the Kathmandu valley and surrounding areas). The Sherpa/Tibetan name Chomolangma was not acceptable, as it would have been against the idea of unification (Nepalization) of the country. However, the ancient name for the mountain is Devgiri (in Sanskrit, it means "holy mountain") or Devadurga (the English pronounced it as deodungha in the 1800s); please refer to the Harrapan archaeology site for more on the history behind the name. In Tibetan it is Chomolungma or Qomolangma (ཇོ་མོ་གླང་མ) ("Mother of the Universe"), or in Chinese: 珠穆朗瑪峰 ( pinyin: Zhūmùlǎngmǎ Fēng) or 聖母峰 (Shèngmǔ Fēng).
Why is Tim trying to pass off Sagarmatha as being an ancient name for Mt. Everest? His own source shows that he is lying! Did he not read the whole paragraph? This is also the only place I see interpreting Sagarmatha as Head of the Ocean. One website explicitly says "sagar" does not mean ocean.
Sagarmatha is a Sanskrit word, from sagar = "sky" (not to be confused with "sea/ocean") and matha = "forehead" or "head", and is the modern Nepali name for Mount Everest.
https://www.grida.no/resources/3031
Elsewhere, as on the Wikipedia page for Mt. Everest, the name is interpreted as "Goddess of the Sky" and Encyclopedia Britannica has "Peak of Heaven."
The Sanskrit name Sagarmatha means literally “Peak of Heaven.”

A few minutes after this Tim claims that Google maps proves that Noah landed on Mt. Everest.

18:02 So Noah did not land and stay on the very summit but it slid down. And would you look at this? This is right from Google maps from the satellite view and inset sweet view.  What the name of this place next to what they call the Hillary Step, which is where they stage climbs of Mt. Everest, well its none other than Arkhale! Wait a minute.  Even Google maps records to this day that the ark landed there. What!?
The Hillary Step is where they stage climbs of Mt. Everest?  No!  That would be base camp.
The Hillary Step was a nearly vertical rock face with a height of around 12 metres (39 ft) located very high on Mount Everest at approximately 8,790 metres (28,839 ft) above sea level, near the summit. It was located on the southeast ridge, halfway between the "South Summit" and the true summit, and it gave climbers the last real challenge before reaching the top of the mountain via the southeast route.
The Hillary Step was destroyed most likely during a massive earthquake that hit the region in 2015
 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillary_Step
The Hillary Step was basically near the peak of the mountain. It no longer exists. As for Arkhale it is listed as an area on Everest on Google maps. There is no information on this place as far as I can find so it's not clear what it is exactly. Tim makes way too much ado about this place. If Arkhale is a special name proving that Noah's ark landed on Mt. Everest then why is there a village in Nepal called Arkhale? This small village even has it's own Wikipedia page.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arkhale,_Khotang

Did he even consider this fact? Again Tim has no idea what he is talking about. But he sure sounds like he does. Rather than telling us the Sanskrit meaning of Arkhale he foolishly attempts to make this name into a Hebrew word meaning Ark Hallelujah! What a cunning linguist!

Next Tim answers questions asked by viewers.

20:01 Now did Noah need an oxygen mask on Mt. Everest? Well, no. The base camp, also known as Arkhale on Google we just showed you is actually 3,500 meters below the summit where the ark would have slid down to as the water level lowered and as you can see from the picture oxygen is not needed like it is in scaling the summit obviously. However once again this is right after the flood and the world ecosystem is not what it is today.
According to science oxygen levels prior to the flood based on petrified sap bubbles would have been much greater.  Not only does this answer why Noah had no issue with oxygen but also good reason as to why the lifespans of Noah's ancestors were so much longer before the flood.  They had more oxygen.
Again Arkhale is NOT base camp.

Tim does not answer the question though he thinks he does. First of all in Tim's scheme Noah is floating in a boat ABOVE Mt. Everest for a few months. That is a problem and the issue is not the amount of oxygen in the air but the fact that at higher altitudes the atmosphere gets thinner making it more difficult to breathe. Gravity draws the oxygen towards the surface so there is less oxygen the higher you ascend.
When you travel to a place above about 8,000 feet, your body starts telling you there’s something seriously wrong with the air up there. The “thin” air at high altitudes has considerably less oxygen and pressure. This is because the earth’s gravity holds the oxygen close to the surface — so much so that half of the oxygen in the atmosphere is found below 18,000 feet.
https://scienceline.org/2015/02/why-do-you-feel-so-awful-at-high-altitudes/
Did Tim forget that Noah and all the animals had been sitting 15 cubits above Mt. Everest for several months? The source for his answer is stunning for all it's hypocrisy.

“One implication is that the atmospheric pressure of the Earth would have been much greater during the Cretaceous era, when the bubbles formed in the resin. A dense atmosphere could also explain how the ungainly pterosaur, with its stubby body and wing span of up to 11 meters, could have stayed airborne, he said. The spread of angiosperms, flowering plants, during the Cretaceous era could have caused the high oxygen levels reported by Berner and Landis, scientists said last week.” (Anderson, Ian, “Dinosaurs Breathed Air Rich in Oxygen,” New Scientist, vol. 116, 1987, p. 25.)
https://www.genesispark.com/exhibits/early-earth/atmosphere/
The Cretaceous era?  Does Tim now believe in long geologic periods of time consisting of millions of years?? Why would he quote a piece from an article based on a science he rejects as false!? That is hypocrisy. He also wrongly attributes that quote to Leah Crane's article "Earth could have more water than we thought while exoplanets have less."

21:31  How did the animals scale Mt. Everest?  Well, just like this little guy perhaps? Actually that would not be necessary at all because again the ark did not stay on the very tip of the summit as some erroneously speculate and they would have had a much easier time from the base camp or Arkhale area going down.
As showed above Arkhale is NOT base camp so if the ark did land at Arkhale they would certainly have had to scale the mountain. Tim is ignoring the elephant in the room here.  The elephant in the ark actually. How would the elephants have walked down the mountain and to Africa?

If you have followed this series of articles about The God Culture or actually watched their videos you should know that The God Culture does not do archaeology.  A commenter pointed this out on their Youtube page for this video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48-XtI0JAIs&lc=UgwJAgYCp764Bne8FuZ4AaABAg.8xlYfIXFSH48xnfSm-ZT_k
@Tribe of Judah shallow claim? The Turkish government thought it was confirmation enough to turn the area into a nation park so they might disagree with you. Not to mention the narrator is using what the internet? Ron wyatt actually went out and tested what he knew to be true like the bible says to do.
This person is correct.  All of Tim's "research" is based on him reading articles on the internet and putting things together like a math problem.  He has not gone into the real world to find support for his claims.  He will never show you the ruins of the palace of the Queen of Sheba. Tim actually thinks those who demand he show archeological proofs for his claims are operating within an occult paradigm.
25:33 But if Noah and his sons landed on Mt. Everest can we find additional support that they actually settled there? Hm? We can find support. Let's go for it. Which frankly this far back is rather miraculous when you think about it given the circumstances. These are extremely ancient and to think they left archaeology to find may not be so simple and to hold one to that standard as a must is really an occult paradigm that assumes that we must find great architecture in order to prove recorded history especially in an era not known for great architecture largely.
Right here Tim disavows archaeology.  He does not need it and to demand such proof from him is evil. That is ridiculous! He will also falsely go on to say this:
41:50 And finally though we could go on and on the ark has never been found nor unearthed nor one ounce of archaeology ever done to prove it sits in any form on top of that mountain in Turkey.
That is a very stupid thing to say. Sure the ark has never been found but plenty of people including Ron Wyatt have done extensive archeological excavations in Turkey to look for the ark. To this day such research continues. Just a few weeks ago Forbidden History released an episode about the search for Noah's Ark. Tim does not have to agree with the research but to say such research has never occurred is not true. It is only Tim who is making great claims who has done ZERO archeological research.

What about Ararat? What about the alleged finds in Turkey? Tim has an answer for that too.

31:41 Egypt is more likely a Nephilim community in those days, not human. Nephilim may have proceeded them in Mesopotamia as well as they certainly lived there and frankly if there was a ship found on Mt. Ararat in Turkey, or whatever it used to be called when it had a real name not a fake one that was assigned to it that is even wrong, it is far more likely a Nephilim vessel carrying giants over the flood. See they survived somehow. And remember they do not have the breath of life and all with the breath of life perished during the flood at least of those not on the ark. Nephilim do not have the breath of life.
I do not even know how to respond to that. It's so bizarre and stupid and contrary to the scriptures which say the flood killed all life. Marine life excepted of course. But according to Tim the Nephilim built an ark and survived the flood founding Egypt and Mesopotamia and their boat is what has been mistaken for Noah's! The appropriate response is a hearty belly busting laugh.

This will bring us to the last part of the review and that is Timothy's comments about Josephus.

43:08 Mt. Ararat in Turkey is the wrong mountain. Period. But there did this originate?  In all fairness to modern scholars not them, they didn't make this up, this comes from Joesphus. An occult legend in fact which he cites. But come on scholars. Test things at least a little.  Don't accept the word of a self admitted Pharisee over the Bible quoting occult legend. Test it. Now we will.
In Antiquities of the Jews Flavius Josephus propagates this myth based on occult pagan legend and not scripture. Here he quotes whom he even admits to be a Chaldean or better termed magician or sorcerer an enemy of the prophets, the writers of the Bible. So not a likely source to pin doctrine.
Berosus the Chaldean says, this is Josephus' writing, It is said there is still some part of the ship in Armenia at the mountain of the Cordyaeans (That's Mt. Judi or Mt. Ararat same thing) and that some people carry of pieces of the bitumen which they take away and use chiefly as amulets for the averting of mischiefs or evil spirits.
What a nice story. Ok so bad enough you quote an occult high priest of satanism basically but you then apply his magic amulet lore? Way to go Joe! You really screwed that one up because the Bible says you are wrong.
Again this is just ridiculous! Has Tmothy actually read Josephus? It seem the answer is no. Did he even read or understand the quote that is on his slide? He certainty did not read the whole thing in the video! He does not even cite it correctly!  It's not chapter 3 verses 5 and 6! It's Book 1, Chpater 3, SECTIONS 5 and 6.  Those are long paragraphs. Let me cite them for you. All of the quotes will come from Gutenberg.

First section 5.
5. When God gave the signal, and it began to rain, the water poured down forty entire days, till it became fifteen cubits higher than the earth; which was the reason why there was no greater number preserved, since they had no place to fly to. When the rain ceased, the water did but just begin to abate after one hundred and fifty days, [that is, on the seventeenth day of the seventh month,] it then ceasing to subside for a little while. After this, the ark rested on the top of a certain mountain in Armenia; which, when Noah understood, he opened it; and seeing a small piece of land about it, he continued quiet, and conceived some cheerful hopes of deliverance. But a few days afterward, when the water was decreased to a greater degree, he sent out a raven, as desirous to learn whether any other part of the earth were left dry by the water, and whether he might go out of the ark with safety; but the raven, finding all the land still overflowed, returned to Noah again. And after seven days he sent out a dove, to know the state of the ground; which came back to him covered with mud, and bringing an olive branch: hereby Noah learned that the earth was become clear of the flood. So after he had staid seven more days, he sent the living creatures out of the ark; and both he and his family went out, when he also sacrificed to God, and feasted with his companions. However, the Armenians call this place, [GREEK] The Place of Descent; for the ark being saved in that place, its remains are shown there by the inhabitants to this day.

That is Josephus' very own testimony about Noah's ark and the flood. It is after this that he cites other barbarian historians to prove that the flood is attested to by the whole world! This intent is shown clearly in sections 6 and 9.
6. Now all the writers of barbarian histories make mention of this flood, and of this ark; among whom is Berosus the Chaldean. For when he is describing the circumstances of the flood, he goes on thus: "It is said there is still some part of this ship in Armenia, at the mountain of the Cordyaeans; and that some people carry off pieces of the bitumen, which they take away, and use chiefly as amulets for the averting of mischiefs." Hieronymus the Egyptian also, who wrote the Phoenician Antiquities, and Mnaseas, and a great many more, make mention of the same. Nay, Nicolaus of Damascus, in his ninety-sixth book, hath a particular relation about them; where he speaks thus: "There is a great mountain in Armenia, over Minyas, called Baris, upon which it is reported that many who fled at the time of the Deluge were saved; and that one who was carried in an ark came on shore upon the top of it; and that the remains of the timber were a great while preserved. This might be the man about whom Moses the legislator of the Jews wrote."
9. Now when Noah had lived three hundred and fifty years after the Flood, and that all that time happily, he died, having lived the number of nine hundred and fifty years. But let no one, upon comparing the lives of the ancients with our lives, and with the few years which we now live, think that what we have said of them is false; or make the shortness of our lives at present an argument, that neither did they attain to so long a duration of life, for those ancients were beloved of God, and [lately] made by God himself; and because their food was then fitter for the prolongation of life, might well live so great a number of years: and besides, God afforded them a longer time of life on account of their virtue, and the good use they made of it in astronomical and geometrical discoveries, which would not have afforded the time of foretelling [the periods of the stars] unless they had lived six hundred years; for the great year is completed in that interval. Now I have for witnesses to what I have said, all those that have written Antiquities, both among the Greeks and barbarians; for even Manetho, who wrote the Egyptian History, and Berosus, who collected the Chaldean Monuments, and Mochus, and Hestieus, and, besides these, Hieronymus the Egyptian, and those who composed the Phoenician History, agree to what I here say: Hesiod also, and Hecatseus, Hellanicus, and Acusilaus; and, besides these, Ephorus and Nicolaus relate that the ancients lived a thousand years. But as to these matters, let every one look upon them as he thinks fit.
Josephus is not quoting Berosus as if he is telling the truth in all things.  In fact he cites several authors and his intent is to show that the story of Noah is universally attested to! But does Tim tell us that? NO!! Tim's intent is to malign Josephus as he does elsewhere in the Psalm 83 war videos for instance. Josephus makes one more reference to Noah's ark in the last book of the Antiquities. From Book 20 chapter 2, section 2:
2. But when Monobazus was grown old, and saw that he had but a little time to live, he had a mind to come to the sight of his son before he died. So he sent for him, and embraced him after the most affectionate manner, and bestowed on him the country called Carra; it was a soil that bare amomum in great plenty: there are also in it the remains of that ark, wherein it is related that Noah escaped the deluge, and where they are still shown to such as are desirous to see them.
https://www.gutenberg.org/files/2848/2848-h/2848-h.htm#link202HCH0002
Carra is today known as Harran, Turkey. Josephus and all of tradition is very clear that the ark landed in Turkey! As the Bible says the mountains of Ararat.  Not Mt. Everest.  There are NO traditions of Noah in Nepal.  That is very significant and Tim ignores that except to dismiss it with his Nephilim doctrine.

This article has run on long enough so it is time to end. I am sorry I cannot deal with all the lies in this video but what I have written is enough. I do have one more thing to write about. Did you ever wonder what color Noah was?  Tim knows!

https://youtu.be/jLNDoWunIsk
1:51 Now this is a quick, brief side note. Before completely diving in notice we use a photo of an albino for Noah. That's not a white dude, he's albino. Now why would we do this?  See Noah was not white but a milky white similar to that skin tone of the Nephilim with blue glowing eyes according to the Book of Enoch and Genesis Apocryphon. Noah's father Lamech was concerned by the appearance of his son because he looked smilier to a Nephilim. Now he was no Nephilim. There is no tie there and that's all proven out very well.  Lamech goes to Methuselah who then finds Enoch in the Garden of Eden in this same place the same land we've covered, Parvaim is the language used in Genesis Apocryphon or Sefar, Sefarvaim same word in Hebrew. Known as Havilah in Genesis 2. This is why we depict Noah as an albino.
Now don't go and look up the vision challenges and other health issues of albinos and say "oh that means Noah had..." no. Those are impertinent. Noah was not that type of albino. He was special because through him all races would be retained and we believe this is how. This is why we see overwhelming evidence from history that Ham, at least his peoples, were black. Shem was dark skinned or medium brown or red. And we will discuss that in the next video. And Japheth was white generally if nothing else. Many try to pull that together but ignore Noah himself may have actually been the one carrying all the genes of what we call races today. Though there is actually only one race. It's called the human race and that's all we actually have.  Everything else is manufactured.
Blue glowing eyes? Are you telling me that Noah was a Fremen? Was he the Kwisatz Haderach?

On a serious note, if this can be called serious, Tim's picture of Noah does not even match the description in the Book of Enoch.
CHAP. 106.—And after some days, my son Methuselah took a wife for his son Lamech, and she became pregnant by him, and gave birth to a son.
2. His body was white as snow and red as the bloom of a rose, and the hair of his head was white as wool, and his eyes beautiful; and when he opened his eyes, they illuminated the whole house like the sun, and the whole house became exceedingly light.
3. And as he was taken from the hand of the midwife, he opened his mouth, and conversed with the Lord of justice.
4. And his father Lamech was afraid of him, and fled, and came to his father Methuselah.
5. And he said to him: “I have begotten a singular son, unlike a man, but similar to the children of the angels of heaven, and his creation is different, and not like ours, and his eyes are like the feet [i.e. rays] of the sun, his face glorious.
6. And it seems to me he is not from me, but from the angels; and I fear that wonderful things will happen in his days over the earth.
7. And now, my father, I am here petitioning and asking of thee that thou shouldst go to Enoch, our father, and hear of him the truth, for he has his dwelling-place with the angels.”
8. And when Methuselah had heard the words of his son, he came to me, at the ends of the earth, for he had heard that I was there, and cried aloud, and I heard his voice and came to him. And I said to him: “Behold, here I am, my son, because thou hast come to me.”
9. And he answered and said to me: “I have come to thee concerning a great thing, and concerning a disturbing vision it is that I have approached.
10. And now, my father, hear me, for there has been born to my son Lamech a son, whose similarity and kind is not like the kind of men; his color is whiter than snow, and redder than the bloom of a rose, and the hair of his head is whiter than white wool, and his eyes like the feet [i.e. rays] of the sun; and he opened his eyes, and they illuminated the whole house.
11. And when he was taken from the hands of the midwife, he opened his mouth, and blessed the Lord of heaven.
12. And his father Lamech was afraid, and fled to me, and did not believe that he was from him, but that his similarity was from the angels of heaven; and behold I have come to thee that thou shouldst teach me justice [i.e. the truth].”
https://www.holybooks.com/wp-content/uploads/The-book-of-Enoch.pdf
According to Enoch the eyes of Noah are not blue and glowing like a spice eater but bright like the rays of the sun. The R.H. Charles translation even says his hair was long. Tim can't even get that right!
