Lola Is Tired of Loud, Speeding Motorcycles

Excessively loud and dangerously speeding motorcycles are a nuisance throughout the Philippines. One old lady decided she has had enough.

https://mb.com.ph/2024/3/17/septuagenarian-in-ilocos-norte-apologizes-for-throwing-stick-at-rider

A septuagenarian who went viral on social media for throwing wood on the driver of a fast-moving and noisy motorcycle in front of her house in Barangay Bulala here on Wednesday morning, March 6, has apologized to the public for her actions.

Renie Leaño, 74, a former teacher and an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), drew public attention after a surveillance footage posted on social media showed her throwing a piece of wood to a fast-moving motorcycle in front of her house.

The motorcycle rider, approximately in his mid to late 40s, returned and confronted Leaño who returned to her house but he followed her and bumped her, causing her to fall down.

The motorcycle rider sped off and Leaño slowly stood up and cursed at him in the native dialect Ilocano.

Surveillance footage later showed Leaño talking to another man, apparently complaining about the noise generated by passing motorcycles.

She later on was enraged by more passing motorcycles, and one rider whom she had said something stopped to confront her.

The man picked a stone which he threw at Leaño who avoided the projectile that landed in her house. Leaño was peeved and heard cursing while the man moved away.

Some neighbors stepped in to diffuse the situation but Leaño continued to rant as more neighbors appeared. Moments later, she went inside her house.

She went out again and seemed to have not yet calmed down.

People have lodged a complaint with barangay officials over Leaño’s actions.

Leaño said her actions were a reminder to speeding motorists to slow down when passing in front of her house as their noisy driving disturbed her and that it was not her intention to hurt them.

She said that she had been bringing up the matter to barangay officials since 2016 or a year upon returning to the country in 2015.

Leaño said that she requested barangay officials to construct a hump on the road or put up a sign reminding motorists to slow down in front of her house. These, she said, were also for the safety of motorists.

She said that barangay officials have done nothing on her requests, prompting her to act on her own to address her concerns.

Leaño vowed to stop throwing firewood at passing motorists.

Barangay officials are consulting with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for appropriate solution to Leaño’s concerns.

For eight years this lady has been bringing her concerns about loud and speeding motorcycles to the barangay. But they have done nothing.

So, she took the matter into her own hands by throwing a piece of wood at and confronting loud speeding riders. Now, she is the one apologizing. Strangely, her own the neighbors have turned against her by filing complaints over her actions. It seems they are not concerned about loud speeding motorcyclists in their neighborhood.

But others in this nation are concerned. In 2016 Senator Win Gatchalian introduced a bill penalizing drivers who use modified mufflers which increase noise. This bill was not passed into law and it was reintroduced in 2022.

http://legacy.senate.gov.ph/lisdata/3913835576!.pdf

With the worsening traffic in Metro Manila , the concomitant noise emitted by motor vehicles just adds to the ordeal that our citizens has to go through every day. The steady increase of our population continues to trigger the environmental hazards of pollution, sad to say that the plague of "noise pollution" has never had any definite national policy nor regulation for control. Lumped in the general concept of air pollution, the dangers of noise pollution have been ignored or underestimated.

A World Health Organization (WHO) report has suggested that noise defined as an "unwanted sound" can affect human health and well-being, including annoyance reaction, sleep disturbance. Interference with communication, performance effects, and effects on social behavior. It further states that exposure to noise levels at or above 80 decibels has been medically proven to cause permanent hearing loss. This exposure to noise has also been associated with changes in blood pressure, other cardiovascular changes, problems with the digestive system and general fatigue.

While this bill is not law the City of Manila did enact a noise ordinance regarding mufflers in 2021.

https://manila.gov.ph/look-yorme-signed-into-law-ordinance-no-8772-regulating-the-use-of-modified-muffler-exhaust-pipe-and-similar-devices-on-all-types-of-motor-vehicles/

The point is, Renie Leaño's neighbors not withstanding, people do not like noise. The problem is that it is not so easy to file a complaint and when one is filed it takes a miracle for it to be acted upon. Renie has been complaining to the barangay for eight year to no avail until she took matters into her own hands. Now local officials are working with the DILG to address her concerns.

So, good on her for drawing attention to this issue. Sometimes that is what it takes.

Insurgency: No Let-Up In AFP Operations

The AFP is enjoying high trust ratings from the public. But they will continue to pursue the NPA rather than sit on their laurels.

https://mb.com.ph/2024/3/11/brawner-no-let-up-in-afp-operations-amid-high-trust-performance-ratings

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will not rest on its laurels after getting high trust and performance ratings in a recent survey conducted by polling firm Octa Research.

AFP Chief, General Romeo Brawner Jr. welcomed the results of the “Tugon ng Masa” fourth quarter survey by Octa Research which showed that the AFP was one of the most trusted and top-performing government agencies in 2023.

“The result of the OCTA Research Fourth Quarter 2023 Tugon ng Masa Survey is an affirmation of the hard work and dedicated service of every soldier, airman, sailor, and marine in the performance of our mandate to the Filipino people,” Brawner said on Monday, March 11.

The military chief urged the officers, enlisted personnel and civilian human resource of the AFP to “continue working hard for the country,” and remain united and professional at all times.

“We will continue to fight to protect our people and our sovereignty,” he promised.

Last week, Octa research revealed the results of its latest survey conducted from December 10 to 14, 2023 which showed that 86 percent of adult Filipinos were satisfied with the military’s performance and 87 percent trusted them.

Is there any reason to think the AFP would sit back and relax simply because they have earned a high trust rating from the public?

In the first two months of the year 348 NPA and their allies have been neutralized.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1220568

Government troops have neutralized a total of 348 New People's Army (NPA) members and their allies in operations from Jan. 1 to March 7, the military announced Tuesday.

In a press briefing in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla said this includes 301 who surrendered, 14 who were apprehended and 33 who were killed.

She said a total of 41 camps, 175 firearms and 44 anti-personnel mines (APMs) were seized from the communist rebels during this period.

"In the same period, a total of 44 local terrorist group members were neutralized," Padilla said.

This can be broken down into 27 surrendered, one arrested, and 16 killed, she added.

Troops also seized a total of 44 firearms, four APMs and five encampments of local terrorist groups, Padilla said.

How many of those neutralized were actual NPA fighters? It seems like only 44 but he breakdown is not made explicit.

9 NPA fighters surrendered claiming they have been demoralized by the AFP's constant attacks.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1220492

Nine communist New People's Army rebels separately surrendered in the provinces of Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Sur, the military here said Monday.

Brig. Gen. Arsenio Sadural, Philippine Army's 901st Infantry Brigade (901Bde) commander, said on Sunday, five rebels yielded to the 29th Infantry Battalion (IB) in Agusan del Norte, while the other four to the 36IB in Surigao del Sur.

In Agusan del Norte, the surrenderers were identified as Maria Sila Galupo, Hanah Sarah Galupo, Narlyn Consuegra, Manuel Nakira Jr., and Urily Nakila, who all belonged to the NPA Regional Headquarters of the North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee (NEMRC).

The group handed over two M16 rifles, an AK-47 rifle, and an M79 grenade launcher with ammunition.

In Surigao del Sur, the four other surrenderers belonging to the weakened NPA Guerrilla Front 30 under the NEMRC are Bernabe Pamad, Ronel Estano, Mary Koy Cuarteron, and Lito Montenegro. The group turned in an AK-47 rifle and a .45-caliber pistol.

"The nine (rebels) escaped from their groups because they feared being hit by the continuous combat operations of the 29IB and the 36IB," Sadural said in a statement.

Sadural said the surrender of the nine rebels indicated that the NEMRC is "on the brink of collapse. We are now at the stage wherein insurgency is at its lowest point and nearing extinction. It's the right time to unite and embrace peace."

He said the surrenderers are set to avail of government services under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.

The North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee is on the brink of collapse. In fact it was destroyed in 2020!

https://mindanaotimes.com.ph/notorious-npa-group-of-reg-10-wiped-out-army/

The North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee (NEMRC) of the New Peoples Army was believed to have been wiped during the five-day clashes against the troops of the 401st Infantry Brigade in Andap Valley Complex in Surigao del Sur on May 14-19.

Lt. Col. Xerxes Trinidad, the 4th Infantry Division Public Affairs Office chief, said that 20 of the NPAs top leaders were killed during the series of encounters. He said the military operations were launched on the complaint of the indigenous communities regarding harassment and forced recruitments.

He said the NPA is also taking advantage of the confusion caused by the pandemic by ramping up their propaganda against the government. The documents that soldiers recovered from encounter sites and the overrun camps would support their theory about an existing plot by the Communist Party of the Philippines.

They also recovered two laptops, supposedly owned by Myrna Sularte or Mariang Malaya, the secretary of NEMRC, and Alvin Luque alias Joaquin Jacinto, the spokesperson of National Democratic Fronts Komisyon Mindanao. The laptops also yielded material evidence on the activities of the NPA.

Again, we see the danger of premature announcements of victory. Like in Suirgao del Norte.

https://mb.com.ph/2024/3/16/surigao-del-norte-declared-insurgency-free

Surigao del Norte has been declared insurgency-free after the massive and successive surrender of high-ranking New People’s Army leaders in the province at the provincial gymnasium here on Friday, March 15.

Gov. Lyndon Barbers said that the province has become conflict-manageable and ready for development. “Our province is now free, and thus paving the way for more growth and economic development,” declared the provincial chief executive.

"The province has become conflict-manageable?" Does that mean the area is not actually free of insurgents but only has a "manageable"number of rebels left? Yes.

“Every week most of the NPA members are surrendering. They’re weakened at and awakened by the of the lies perpetuated by the NPA,’’ Abalos said..

https://mb.com.ph/2024/3/17/surigao-del-norte-declared-as-communist-insurgency-free

Surigao del Norte is not 100% insurgency free. Rather, the insurgency has been weakened.

An official announcement of amnesty is just around the corner. When it finally comes former NPA fighters who wish to do so can join the Army.

https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1918657/former-rebels-seeking-amnesty-most-welcome-to-join-ph-army

Former rebels who are seeking amnesty are “most welcome” to join the Philippine Army, its spokesperson Col. Louie Dema-ala told INQUIRER.net on Thursday.

Dema-ala made the reaction as Commissioner Jamar Kulayan of the National Amnesty Commission (NAC) revealed to INQUIRER.net that around 80,000 rebels are eligible to avail of the government reprieve.

“If joining the ranks of the Philippine Army will help them transition, reconstruct their lives and secure a brighter future they are most welcome as long as they have satisfied the basic requirements of the Philippine Army and passed the vetting process,” Dema-ala said in a text message.

“The Philippine Army extends its welcome to former rebels choosing to return to the folds of the law,” Dema-ala said.

The offer applies to all former rebels including members of the New People’s Army (NPA), Rebolusyonaryong Partido ng Manggagawa ng Pilipinas-Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPMP-RPA-ABB), Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), and the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF). What will happen to Army morale knowing that you are fighting alongside men who fought against you?

The AFP continues the fight against the BIFF and DI. After killing 2 BIFF fighters the AFP is bracing for retaliation.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1220490

Military forces in Maguindanao del Sur have been placed on heightened alert after two extremists were killed in a clash with government forces in Datu Saudi Ampatuan town over the weekend.

As of Monday, military detachments in the adjoining towns of Shariff Aguak, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Mamasapano, and Shariff Saydona in Maguindanao Sur, areas where the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIFF) operates, remain on alert for possible retaliatory attacks.

Maj. Gen. Alex Rillera, Army’s 6th Infantry Division commander, said the Army’s 1st Brigade Combat Team conducted the decisive military operations at about 5 a.m. Saturday that left two members of the BIFF dead.

Brig. Gen. Jose Vladimir Caraga, 1BCT commander, said the remains of two slain BIFFs were retrieved in the village of Kitango in Datu Saudi Ampatuan.

“We found an M16 rifle, a .50-caliber homemade Barrett rifle, ammunition, and two improvised explosive devices,” Caraga said in his report to Rillera.

Caraga said about 20 BIFFs were sighted by civilians in the village and alerted military checkpoints nearby, which triggered the clash.

He said soldiers are now pursuing the BIFF group belonging to the Kagui Karialan faction.

On March 3, a BIFF fighter was killed while his father, a sub-leader, was arrested in Mamasapano, Maguindanao del Sur.

If they are expecting retaliatory attacks that means the AFP is acknowledging that the BIFF is not weak. Despite being small they remain dangerous. The DI also remains dangerous even while on the run.

https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1917990/daulah-islamiyah-on-the-run-says-ph-army

The extremist Daulah Islamiyah-Maute group is on the run, said Philippine Army chief Lt. Gen. Roy Galido on Wednesday.

(The Daulah Islamiyah is now just a small group that is isolated in a place that is hard to reach. In short, they are on the run. The Army is very aggressive; that is why we lost some personnel in the last few months because we were so aggressive in going after them.)

Galido said that they do not want to leave space for the militants to commit further crimes.

Furthermore, the Army chief said that the number of guerilla fronts has been reduced but did not specify how many are left. He said that the fronts were reduced because the government was successful in ensuring that its services reach vulnerable areas.

However, Galido admitted that there were a few guerilla fronts left in Samar and Bicol.

The DI may be on the run but that is sure to make them only that more willing to commit atrocities like the bombing at MSU.  Hopefully that will not happen and any intel the AFP obtains will be acted on promptly.

Another Miscarriage of Justice in the Philippines?

The Philippine legal system is incomprehensible to the outsider at least. If someone commits a crime they should be prosecuted. Right? In the Philippines it's not that simple. The latest case involves a car accident in Quezon City.

https://mb.com.ph/2024/3/13/car-driver-in-viral-skyway-collision-freed-cleared-of-liability-on-rider-s-death

The Quezon City Prosecutors Office has ordered the release of the driver of a Toyota Innova which figured in a fatal head-on collision with a motorcycle at the Skyway Stage 3 in Balintawak on Sunday morning, an official of the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Wednesday, March 12.

But why was the driver of Toyota Innova detained and charged when the viral video showed that the motorcycle rider appeared to be at fault?

Police Capt. Jun Cornelio Estrellan, head of the PNP-Highway Patrol Group South Luzon Expressway Sub Office, explained that the police are strictly following processes, especially in incidents that would result in death.

In the case of the viral video which showed that the motorcycle rider was running fast, without helmet and travelling on the wrong side of the road, Estrellan said that the filing of the case against the driver is part of the protocol when the rider died.

“Since there was death in this case, the police will automatically file the case with all the documents and leave the prosecutor to decide what is right on the incident,” said Estrellan in an interview over Radyo Pilipinas.

And in so far as the driver Toyota Innova is concerned, Estrellan said the QC Prosecutor’s Office said that he has no liability over the incident.

But the official said the decision of the family of the motorcycle rider not to pursue the case helped a lot in the decision of the Prosecutor’s Office that paved the way for the release of the driver from jail.

“It was the brother of the motorcycle rider who represented the family who executed  an affidavit of desistance. It was one of the reasons why the Innova driver was exonerated,” said Estrellan.

On the part of the Skyway enforcers, Estrellan explained that they were not able to immediately prevent the entry of the motorcycle since it was running so fast and it was travelling on the opposite side of the road.

You can watch the crash at this link. The point here is not who is at fault based on the video. The point is the reason why the driver was released. Here it is if you missed:

But the official said the decision of the family of the motorcycle rider not to pursue the case helped a lot in the decision of the Prosecutor’s Office that paved the way for the release of the driver from jail.

“It was the brother of the motorcycle rider who represented the family who executed  an affidavit of desistance. It was one of the reasons why the Innova driver was exonerated,” said Estrellan.

This driver was released, not because the Prosecutor’s Office decided he was not at fault, but because the brother of the motorcyclist "executed an affidavit of desistance." Not only was the driver released based on the actions of the brother but he was EXONERATED! The actions of the brother should not matter one whit. Only the evidence should determine whether or not a case is filed.

This is outrageous. But this is the Philippines. Prosecutors REFUSE to press charges if cases can be resolved between parties. That includes even vehicular homicide cases. If you kill someone with your vehicle but you can come to an agreement with the family of your victim you will NEVER face the consequences for what you did.

This is not to say the driver is guilty of a crime. It is to say that the Prosecutor's Office did not release him based on evidence but on the actions of the victim's family. That is wrong.

There is no justice in the Philippines.

The God Culture: Jesus Christ is Not The Passover Lamb Specifically

If you listen long enough to Timothy Jay Schwab of The God Culture it becomes rather easy to spot his heresies and predict what he will say next. Tim's method is rather simple: EVERYTHING the Church teaches is wrong. In his view the Church is actually the Synagogue of Satan and must be opposed at every step. That is why Tim is so keen on refuting long established Biblical doctrines such as the Trinity, the tripartite nature of man as body, mind, and soul, and the doctrine of eternal punishment in the lake of fire.

What makes Tim exciting to listen to is not his dull, unoriginal heresies but his complex and original mental gymnastics which drive him to his heretical conclusions. This originality is exemplified in a video where Tim tells the world in no uncertain terms why Jesus Christ is by no means our Passover Lamb. Call it the anti-Gospel.

CORRECTING Jonathan Cahn's "When Was Jesus REALLY Born?" Pharisee Leaven

36:18  But is that Yahusha is the Passover Lamb? Is that true? Actually, no. What scripture says that? None. Now go search the KJV. None.

44:06 John Cahn says Messiah is the Passover Lamb as if that is ever a Biblical designation. Search it, it's never there. He is our sacrificial lamb all 59 times of the year not just Passover. This has, yes he is the Passover Lamb, he's every lamb, but he is not designated as the Passover Lamb in scripture ever specifically. Uh, this has always been false also no he did not die on Passover either. That is ridiculous because Passover only occurs at night during the dark hours and Messiah's crucifixion the sun was out and the Sun was darkened and that is illiterate to the passages.

45:16 Yes, 1 Corinthians 5:7 Paul does say Yahusha is the Passover but the Passover is not just about the lamb. That is illiterate. Understand not only is he the sacrifice for Passover, and he is because he is all 59 times of the year, however, there is far more to being the Passover than merely the lamb as well. How is it that this Rabbi doesn't know that Israel was delivered from Egypt on Passover? I mean this is what the event is all about it's not just about the lamb, duh. Talk about leavening a passage rebuking leaven even. Wow! But we can take this further.

Hebrews 10 is abundantly clear Yahusha is our sacrifice for all 52 sabbaths and all seven feasts all not just Passover. All, okay? That's just feasts and sabbaths alone but he replaces all animal sacrifice in scripture period from from the time of his sacrifice Forward Forever.

48:53 But wait Yahusha was not crucified, he wasn't, you know, put on the stake or the tree on Passover. No. That is absolutely ridiculous to say so is to not even know what Passover is because it's only an evening event. Can't possibly be.

52:21 Passover then ends to be completed basically uh it's finished. All remains of of the Lamb are to be burned because Passover is over. It's done. It's finished by the Morning, by Sunrise. Notice that did not happen with Yahusha either. So, if he was to follow the Passover Lamb he also should have been burned. Oops! And yet he wasn't. Oops! He wasn't following the Passover Lamb that is nonsense.

59:29 ...following Isaac's timeline exactly on the same day. Both Paramount events because this story is one of Covenant not following the Passover Lamb which is ludicrous. It's, it's a dumb statement never should come out of anyone's lips. He does not follow the lamb and is not fulfilling Covenant with the lamb. He fulfills the sacrifice so a lamb, a bull a goat yeah. It's not just lamb you do realize? He replaces all animal sacrifice all 59 plus times of the year. Duh.

What a lot of rubbish. But take a look at Tim's gymnastics. He says Jesus cannot be the Passover lamb specifically because the Passover happens at night and Jesus was crucified during the day. He also says the remnants of the Passover were burned therefore Jesus cannot be the Passover lamb. At least he recognizes that Jesus ate a Passover meal. But what happened at the meal? Jesus identified himself with it!

Matthew 26 KJV

The text says: AS THEY WERE EATING. Eating what? The Passover meal of course. As they were eating Jesus identified the bread and the wine as His body and blood which he was to shed in only a few hours.

It is ludicrous for Tim to say Jesus was not burned up therefore he cannot be the Passover lamb. Must he be an actual lamb too?  Tim is correct that there is more to the Passover than just the lamb. There is also the deliverance of Israel. But what was that based upon? It was based upon the lamb being slain and its blood being applied to the doorposts of the house. There is NO deliverance without the lamb. Likewise there is no deliverance from sin without the shed blood of Jesus Christ who is our Passover as Paul says.

Tim does not have any real rebuttal to this verse except to agree that he is the Passover lamb because he is also all the lambs that were to be sacrificed through the year. That is not false per se but that is not what Paul is talking about. He mentions the Passover SPECIFICALLY. Why? The context is purging out the leaven which is what one did during the Passover. And what was sacrificed during the Passover? A LAMB! The identity of Jesus Christ as the Passover lamb in this verse is unmistakable. There is nothing else it could be because that is the only animal sacrificed during the Passover.

Tim says Jesus Christ fulfilled all sacrifices so he is our goat and bull as well as our lamb. It sounds good but it is wrong. Yes, it is true that Jesus Christ fulfilled all sacrifices including that of bulls and goats but the Bible never calls Him a goat or a bull. He is always referred to as a LAMB.

What's Lamb gotta do with it? EVERYTHING!!  The Scriptures are crystal clear that Jesus Christ is THE LAMB sacrificed for us. Not the goat, not the bull, not the turtledove but THE LAMB!! Why is this? Because the Passover is a type which symbolized His coming and His sacrifice on the cross. We are saved by and through HIS BLOOD just as the Israelites were saved by the blood of the lamb on the doorpost.  Tim's rejection of that clear Bible teaching is because he has embraced the Book of Jubilees which teaches otherwise. He puts more stock in that book than he does in the Bible.

The more appropriate question is: Who needs Timothy Jay Schwab of the God Culture when his theology is broken?

The God Culture: Follow the Method

Timothy Jay Schwab of The God Culture has a new 52-week study series about the apocrypha. It is based on his two-volume set of books which claims to test the apocryphal books. I have written an article on each volume showing forth Tim's awful and uneducated methods defending or rejecting the apocrypha (vol 1, vol 2). It is this method which I would like to further explore.

Apocrypha Test: Part 2: Who Decided Bible Canon? History of the Bible.

In a comment on this video Tim says one should follow his method to find out the truth.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEHB3rowk8I&lc=UgzStsCHOWRh56weQzV4AaABAg

@jawnatutorow: Ok, I have a question. If the pharisees at Jesus time were imposters, why did Paul respect them when they told him Ananias was the high priest, and Paul apologized and said it is written you should not speak even of a ruler of your people?

@TheGodCulture: You mean Paul when on trial with his life in the hands of the Pharisees? Can you read? Are you really incapable of the comprehension of a child? When you try to quote a scripture, quote it and do so in context. First, Paul rebukes the Pharisees many times and the illiterate modern church thinks he is rebuking Moses when he taught Moses' Law but rebuked Pharisee application. Why do you think he ended up in front of them on trial? How do you not know? In this account you try to cite inaccurately in context, Paul invokes he was a Pharisee by birth thru his father likely, yet he was a Hebrew thru his mother which are 2 different things if you new how to read Paul. If he did not show respect to the Pharisee ruler publicly especially when in chains and on trial in front of them, which is rather sad to think you do not know any of Paul's story it appears, he would be dead far earlier. Paul was not stupid. How is it you do not know that is the actual question here? Some of them still wish to kill Paul even so but understand he publicly covered himself by showing respect for what was a recognized position though Paul well knew the Pharisees were fakes. He warns of their Jewish Fables and endless genealogies in 1 Timothy 4. Read all of that chapter and he lays out the Pharisees guilty of old wives' fables as well. In 2 Timothy 4, he predicts many will fall for these Jewish fables of the Pharisees. In Titus 1:14, Paul says: " Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth." The real question here is how is that you think that his rebuking the Pharisees accusing them of propagating the commandments of men and lies turning men away from the truth somehow equals his endorsing their righteousness when he never did. Yes, when on trial, he invokes his Roman citizenship by birth, his Pharisee bloodline from his father, his Hebrew blood from his mother, and his learning from a very famous Pharisee at a young age in his defense while on trial. His defense was accurate and it worked that time especially. However, you see that as his endorsing those he rebuked? Really? This is an extremely illiterate way to read anything. Follow the method on this channel and you will learn to fix this. Attempt further debate in ignorance as you certainly do not know Paul and do not represent his words, be muted. Our channel, our rules. Yah Bless.

I want to analyze this comment and response and show that the method used by Timothy Jay Schwab is only going to lead one into ignorance.

@jawnatutorow: Ok, I have a question. If the pharisees at Jesus time were imposters, why did Paul respect them when they told him Ananias was the high priest, and Paul apologized and said it is written you should not speak even of a ruler of your people?

Now, this person echos the very same question I have said about Tim's assertion that the Pharisees were impostors. Nowhere in the scripture does Jesus, or in this case Paul, ever condemn them for being impostors. They are condemned for hypocrisy but never for being Samaritan impostors. It's a deadly blow to Tim's claims.

But watch how he uses his method to make the question irrelvant. I am going to take this a section at a time. Someone should tell Tim to punch the enter button once in a while and start a new paragraph. There is no need for unreadable blocks of text.

@TheGodCulture: You mean Paul when on trial with his life in the hands of the Pharisees? Can you read? Are you really incapable of the comprehension of a child? When you try to quote a scripture, quote it and do so in context.

The very first part of Tim's method is to mock and ridicule the commenter. This is the same method he uses when discussing the work of Dead Sea Scrolls scholars. They are dismissed as illiterate buffoons.

First, Paul rebukes the Pharisees many times and the illiterate modern church thinks he is rebuking Moses when he taught Moses' Law but rebuked Pharisee application. Why do you think he ended up in front of them on trial? How do you not know?

The second part of Tim's method is to twist facts and erect straw men. It is true that Paul rebukes the Pharisees but it is NOT true that the Church thinks or teaches Paul rebuked Moses. That is simply nonsense. Paul says very clearly he upholds the law but at the same time he is very adamant that the law leads us to Christ and because Christ is come it is now done away with. That is why the Church does not teach the law of Moses except insofar as it leads men to Christ. We are no longer under the law but under grace. That dichotomy of law versus grace, of the old versus the new covenant, is Christianity 101.

In fact, Paul did not end up on trial for rebuking the Pharisees but because the Jews thought he brought a Gentile into the temple and that he was teaching against the law.

Acts 21:27 And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,

28 Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.

29 (For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)

Acts 22:21 And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.

22 And they gave him audience unto this word, and then lifted up their voices, and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth: for it is not fit that he should live.

Acts 24:5 For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:

6 Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.

7 But the chief captain Lysias came upon us, and with great violence took him away out of our hands,

8 Commanding his accusers to come unto thee: by examining of whom thyself mayest take knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him.

9 And the Jews also assented, saying that these things were so.

Acts 25:7 And when he was come, the Jews which came down from Jerusalem stood round about, and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove.

8 While he answered for himself, Neither against the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Caesar, have I offended any thing at all.
See that? The charges have NOTHING to do with Paul rebuking the Pharisees. In fact the Pharisees were ready to let Paul go when he spoke of the resurrection!
Acts 23:9 And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees' part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God.
Tim calls this commenter illiterate but one must really wonder about his reading skills.

In this account you try to cite inaccurately in context, Paul invokes he was a Pharisee by birth thru his father likely, yet he was a Hebrew thru his mother which are 2 different things if you new how to read Paul.

The third part of Tim's method is to apply to the enemies of Christ twisted and ridiculous bloodlines. In his view everyone who is not with Christ is a nephilim of some variety. Here we see Tim referring to the Pharisees as some sort of bloodline different from that of the Hebrews. The fact is the Pharisees were a SECT of Judaism which has nothing to do with genetics. There are NO genetic Pharisees just like there are no genetic Catholics, Buddhists, or Muslims.

If he did not show respect to the Pharisee ruler publicly especially when in chains and on trial in front of them, which is rather sad to think you do not know any of Paul's story it appears, he would be dead far earlier. Paul was not stupid. How is it you do not know that is the actual question here?

The fourth part of Tim's method is to take a familiar Bible story and twist it all out of proportion. In his hands Jonah is no longer swallowed by a fish as the text actually says but he was swallowed by Leviathan and taken all the way around Africa. In this story Paul knew these Pharisees were fakes but deferred to them as being legitimate in a cowardly bid to save his life. Just look at how Tim defames Paul by calling him a dissimulating liar who was looking out to save his life rather than die for the truth as he proclaims he is ready to do in his letters. Incredible.

In Titus 1:14, Paul says: " Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth."

This is more of Tim's fourth method. Now 1 Timothy becomes a warning against the Pharisees. In fact, according to Tim most of what Paul writes is against the Pharisees because they were the main number one enemy then and now. Case in point Tim says that Paul only knew the false Pharisee way of keeping the law and he had to relearn how to keep it the correct way.

https://youtu.be/9Id0VB5fM5M?t=1821

30:22 However Paul kept the Pharisee law in his teachings back then but Pharisee teachings. Ok? Those do not attribute to him keeping the actual law because the Pharisee law is not the law. Therefore having been a Pharisee it did not mean Paul understood the law or the Bible any better than anyone else. He would have to relearn, really unlearn first, and then relearn the entire law because they had leavened pretty much all of it and turned it against, so Paul was learning really a new law when you think about it.
It is simply false that Paul had to relearn the correct way to keep the law. As a Pharisee of the Pharisees he kept it quite correctly and he taught, especially in Galatians and Hebrews, that the law had passed away because it's fulfillment in Jesus Christ had come.

The real question here is how is that you think that his rebuking the Pharisees accusing them of propagating the commandments of men and lies turning men away from the truth somehow equals his endorsing their righteousness when he never did.

Here we several of Tim's methods come to the fore. There's the nonsense about Pharisee bloodlines, there's calling the commenter illiterate, and we also have Tim misrepresenting the original question.

The commenter did not say Paul endorsed the righteousness of the Pharisees. That is NOT the question. What the commenter asked is:

If the pharisees at Jesus time were imposters, why did Paul respect them when they told him Ananias was the high priest, and Paul apologized and said it is written you should not speak even of a ruler of your people?

There is not a single word about endorsing their righteousness. What is being endorsed is their position as leaders and teachers of Israel and especially the High Priest being legitimate.

Here is what Paul says in Acts 23:

1 And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.

2 And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.

3 Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?

4 And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God's high priest?

5 Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.

6 But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.

Jesus says much the same thing.

Matthew 23:1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,

2 Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:

3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

Jesus rebukes the Pharisees but he NEVER calls them impostors. He says they "sit in Moses' seat" and are thus the legitimate rulers and judges of Israel. That is the issue here and Tim simply does not want to deal with it honestly.

Follow the method on this channel and you will learn to fix this. Attempt further debate in ignorance as you certainly do not know Paul and do not represent his words, be muted. Our channel, our rules. Yah Bless.

Finally Tim concludes his non-answer to the question as to why Paul did not call the Pharisees impostors. He says following his method will lead to right conclusions and then he warns the commenter to not comment again "in ignorance" or he will be muted. And what it Tim's method? It is:

1. Insult the inquirer.

2. Misrepresent the question.

3. Twist the scriptures.

4. Reduce everything to bloodlines.

5. Warn any inquirer to never ask a hard question again or else be muted.

That no method to get to the truth. It is a method to conceal the ignorance of Tim who cannot be bothered by hard facts which prove his teachings to be false. This method is used in all his videos, books, and comments. If you are interested in truth don't follow this method and certainly do not follow Timothy Jay Schwab of The God Culture.

https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1917361/abused-wife-blocks-promotion-of-army-official-at-ca

The promotion of an Army official met a setback at the Commission on Appointments (CA) as his wife showed up at the Senate on Tuesday to block it.

Tessa Luz Reyes-Sevilla recalled the allegedly harrowing events she went through at the hands of her husband Ranulfo Sevilla.

She said her husband does not deserve to be promoted. The military official was nominated for promotion to brigadier general of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

“No amount of sorry, no amount of money will make me back down. Nothing will make us back down. We deserve to be vindicated,” Tessa told reporters in a press conference on Tuesday before the CA confirmation hearing of her husband.

She added that she has been silent long enough and has endured for too long the alleged abuses of her husband.

(I can’t keep quiet anymore. We have endured for a long time. What’s painful is that we have been tolerating his lack of financial support and yet he still has the gall to womanize.)

Apart from committing adultery, Tessa said she and her children were physically and mentally abused by Sevilla.

(What hurts me is that the children see it. It may look innocent to have been pushed, accidentally pushed — but I’m pregnant. I’m pregnant, I was pushed. I thought I would miscarry mu child so I applied for a protection order.)

Tessa’s 12-year-old daughter, who accompanied her at the Senate, likewise testified that she and her siblings were subjected to Sevilla’s “abusive acts.”

In the end, Tessa asked the AFP to look into the growing incidents of housewives being abused by their partners who are military officials.

“The gentlemen of the AFP, I hope that you’re hearing this and this is the right time. I hope that it’s going to be a precedent and I hope that you look into the very sad plight of the wives, mothers, partners of your men in the AFP. It’s about time, Sirs,” she appealed.

The CA panel on national defense, meanwhile,  held an executive session to discuss Sevilla’s appointment.

The wife of a solider up for promotion to brigadier general has blocked his promotion after detailing his abuse.
