Hi, My Name Is...16

I don't know why I stopped this series but a reader asked if I could do them again so here goes. Remember, this series was supposed to be about the misadventures of foreigners in the Philippines but it is also sort of a crime blotter.

Hi, my name is Cromwell Cabansay. On the same day that Manny Pacquiao got defeated in the ring by Yordenis Ugas I defeated my brother with on punch to the head.

Cebu City has been peaceful for the past few years when Manny Pacquiao has a fight after everyone is focused on television.

But it was different on Sunday, August 22, during Pacquiao’s welterweight championship fight against Cuban Yordenis Ugas in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Two crimes took place. One of them was a 50 -year -old man who had killed his younger brother with whom he was consulting. The brother's head was hit on the cement in Barangay Quiot, at 12:30 p.m. Meanwhile, theft also occurred in Barangay Carreta.

The deceased was identified as Michael Cabansay, 52, a resident of Upper Greenbelt, Quiot. His younger brother was Cromwell, 50.

According to eyewitnesses, Cromwell beat his younger brother for no apparent reason and Michael was hit in the jaw causing him to fall, thus hitting his head on the cement.

They quickly called the Emergency Medical Services of the barangay to be taken to the hospital but the medical personnel declared it dead.

Cromwell was immediately arrested and lodged in the detention cell at the Labangon Police Station.

Investigators identified the victim as Archie Tudayan Eusebio, 30, and the suspect as Raymund Eusebio, 33, both residents of Barangay Suysuyan.

The police said the brothers and some other men were having a drinking spree, when Raymund left to accompany his wife to a nearby river around 6 p.m.

Raymund and his wife later argued, prompting Archie to pacify the couple. But Raymund reportedly took a knife and stabbed his younger brother in the chest, investigators said.

Hi, my name is Rubillo Distor. I was at a birthday party with my neighbors when we got into a heated argument. I shot them, only wounding them and not killing them. Then I fled in my jeepney and died after I wrecked.

Hi, my name is anonymous doctor who works at the Chinese General Hospital. A dog was blocking my SUV and I waited for it to move. As I drove forward a train came out of nowhere and smashed my SUV. Luckily I survived. For some reason there were no warning lights or automatic barriers to indicate a train was coming. That spells big lawsuit. Watch the video for yourself.

A doctor managed to survive after her SUV got hit then dragged by a train of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) in Sampaloc, Manila.

In a "24 Oras" report by Corinne Catibayan on Friday, a CCTV footage showed an SUV traversing P. Margal Street, Barangay 474 on Thursday night.

The vehicle waited for a dog to cross the street before proceeding.

But as the SUV moved foward, a train of the PNR passed through, hitting and dragging the vehicle.

The SUV's left side and the window from the driver's side were destroyed.

The doctor, who is working at the Chinese General Hospital, said she came from duty and was supposed to collect payments for her house for rent.

According to the doctor, she did not see the PNR personnel waving signs because the place was dark. She also did not hear the sirens of the train.

Barangay officials immediately responded on the matter.

The doctor did not sustain any injury.

Hi, our names are Jellyboy Bulay and Christian Solis. We were both stabbed to death during separate drinking sessions. I, that's me Jellyboy, got in a heated argument with my co-worker. I saw him pull out a knife and was able to conk him on the head with a piece of wood but he was still able to stab me to death.
https://cebudailynews.inquirer.net/398501/personal-grudge-seen-as-reason-behind-stabbing-incident-in-argao

Police said personal grudge is likely the reason behind the stabbing of a man in barangay Alambijud, Argao town, Cebu on Sunday evening, September 5, 2021.

Police identified the victim as  Jellyboy Bulay, 37, who was stabbed by his neighbor, Jaime Algones, 57, while having a drinking session outside their houses on Sunday evening.

According to Police Staff Sergeant Clifford Butron, the investigator of the case, Bulay and Algones were both construction workers in a construction site in Mandaue City. This is where he believes the problem began.

Butron added that the suspect tends to have a different attitude when intoxicated, which led to the stabbing.

Quoting initial investigation, Butron said that the victim was stabbed with a 13-inch long knife.

Fortunately, the victim saw the suspect before he could stab him. Bulay saw a piece of wood, which he used to strike the suspect first. The suspect managed to still stab the victim in the left portion of his body during the scuffle.

But I, that's me Christian Solis, was not so "fortunate" to see my attacker and strike first.
