Retards in the Government 31

It's only the second week of the year but the plate is already full!

2018 is starting off with a bang.  The current administration wants a shift to federalism now. Or maybe not now.  How about draw it out a whole decade?

His remains came after both Pimentel and Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez raised on Wednesday the possibility of extending the terms of Mr. Duterte or lawmakers if Congress succeeded in pushing for Charter change (Cha-cha) this year that would pave the way for a shift to federalism.
Pangilinan said what people wanted were jobs, affordable food and additional income, not Cha-cha.
Cha-cha? CHA-CHA???  Why the baby talk?  Why not just write Charter change and leave it at that.  Will there be baby talk in the new Constitution? If you are wondering about the awkward sentence "His remains..." just replace "remains" with the word "comments."

The Constitution identifies three ways by which it may be changed or revised: by Congress acting as a Con-ass, by constitutional convention (Con-con) of elected delegates, or by a people’s initiative through a petition by 12 percent of the electorate.
A Con-con? For sure any new Philippine Constitution will be a Con.

Thank goodness the DFA giving weather alerts to Filipinos living in the USA. Otherwise they might now know about the snowstorm about to descend upon them.

The Philippine Senate, led by Grace Poe, is tackling the big issues which affect the well-being of the people, the security of the nation, and the integrity of the people's Facebook profiles.

“I do not have plans of running [for] a national post in the 2019 elections. But I have plans of running in the first congressional district of Davao City,” she told reporters on the sidelines of the launching of Tapang at Malasakit Alliance for the Philippines in Manila last October.
This lady is kind of dumb. She does not think a seat in the House of Representatives is a national post. She would fit right at home in the Senate.

Bato and Duterte had better not get too excited about the 2019 elections just yet. After all it was just announced that there might not be any elections in 2019 if the shift to federalism is made this year.
I told you we have not heard the last of this scandal. What will the outcome be? If one of them dies in horrible car wreck because an unlicensed driver failed to turn on his lights at night that would be a most unexpected turn of events.
The local lawmaking body here will practically stop to function for more than a month as 13 of its 15 members, including the vice mayor, start serving their suspension for simple misconduct.

“It is very unfortunate to hear about the suspension of my colleagues in the august body. This is precisely the very thing I have warned them during the second regular session last year that we have to be careful with our actions because as councilors we are bound by the rule of law,” Belmonte said.
It can be recalled that on the second regular session of city council in 2016, Belmonte warned her fellow councilors in giving authority to Mayor Regencia, who is legally incapacitated at that time being in jail.
Fire fighters, who didn’t have gas masks, had difficulty going inside the place where the fire originated because of the thick smoke.
Two days to put to a fire? No gas masks? Sounds like Cebu City should invest in proper firefighter training and equipment.  If one of the largest cities in the Philippines has this problem I would wager every city in the Philippines has unprepared and under-equipped firefighters.

Only in the Philippines!  What would they do if they had to battle a blaze way up in a high rise condo or hotel?
“We can see from the body language and the words of the President, literally, that number one, he had not wanted to be President of the country,” Andanar said on Saturday in his new program over government-owned Radyo ng Bayan.
Martin Andanar is now a body language expert. If Duterte had literally not wanted to be President then he literally would not have run for the office.

What a headline!  It means that during the ConAss the House and Senate will be spread apart to make it easier to fit in their votes.

“We have been harsh already. We will be harsher this time around. Harsh to the harshest level. We will not be forgiving. There will be no mercy for erring policemen,” PNP Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa told reporters.
I wonder what his definition of "harsh" is.

Shameless politicians + ignorant voters = Philippines government.

“When we say we are relying on China’s good faith, it is because China has committed not to embark on new reclamations,” Roque said in a press briefing.
http://www.sunstar.com.ph/manila/local-news/2018/01/09/china-air-base-kagitingan-reef-security-threat-says-palace-583063
"From the very beginning, China -- we knew -- was militarizing the area by reclaiming these areas and by using them as military bases. So the fact that they are actually using it now as military bases, as far as I am concerned, is not new. It's not news because we've always been against the militarization of the area," Roque said in a press conference Tuesday, January 9.
"Kagitingan is one of the islands that it (China) had already reclaimed and this is also one of the islands subject to the arbitral tribunal decision that it is within the Philippine economic zone. It's certainly not okay because of course, it constitutes a further threat to peace and security in the area," he added.
This is all more than a little confusing.  China is militarising these islands and the Palace know this.  Everyone knows this. And everyone knows this militarisation is a threat to the peace and security of the Philippines and the region. But they say there is no breach of good faith because China has not reclaimed any more islands. Theoretically China could move in a few nuclear bombs and there would still be no breach of good faith as long as they have not reclaimed any new islands. This is what is known as Fil-logic.
It's official!  Con-ass is official!  Con-ass is on!  By the end of the year Con-ass will have spoken! A new country will be born and Filipinos will be more prosperous and freer than ever!

Or will they?  Has a draft of a whole new Constitution already been submitted for consideration to both houses? Who wrote it? When did they submit it? How did this guy who is not a Congressman get a copy? The answer is right here in this pdf: http://lpp.gov.ph/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/RBH0008-Resolution-of-Both-Houses-8_FEDERALISM.pdf

That is an 83 page document!  79 pages of which contain the proposed new Constitution!  79 PAGES!!!  In contrast the United States Constitution fits on one page!  One page!

Bong Bong Marcos lost the election in 2016. Now a recount is slowly making it's way through a lengthy process which will not see an actual tallying of the votes until next month. It's more than a little premature and arrogant to declare himself the winner of an election he already lost.

http://beta.philstar.com/the-freeman/cebu-news/bottom-article-list/2018/01/10/1776394/rats-roaches-pester-city-hall
In a regular session yesterday, the council approved the resolution of Councilor Eugenio Gabuya Jr., which states that the “presence of rats, cockroaches, and other pests poses threats to transmission of diseases, including salmonellosis, leptospirosis, Lyme disease, and damage to the entire legislative building and fixtures.”
Meanwhile, the council also asked the Office of the Building Official to check if the sprinklers system installed at different offices inside the City Hall are working to prevent fires.
Cebu City Hall is infested with vermin and insects and they aren't sure if the building is up to code! This is what a functioning government does not look like.
President Duterte has fulfilled four of his five campaign promises, with federalism the only commitment that has yet to be realized, Malacañang said.
Last August Duterte admitted that his biggest promise, ridding the nation of drugs, is not doable. Martin Anadanar is straight up lying which means another of Duterte's promises, ending corruption, has also not been fulfilled because what is more corrupt than a lying bureaucrat?

  1. I saw the Star headline yesterday where Rody said PHL and China relations are improving. No wonder since Rody bowed down and started kissing China's ass as soon as he took office. Then add to that Rody giving China more land.
