Martial Law: Surrender

The AFP has been busy this past week but not busy with fighting. Rather than fight many terrorists have chosen to lay down their arms and surrender.

Even top officials are laying down their arms and surrendering.

Hundreds of NPA soldiers have surrendered.

Those who refuse to surrender are still being caught and arrested.

The AFP says that if the trend continues the NPA will be quickly defeated.

Those with good sense would greet these arrests with applause and hope for more. The quicker the CPP-NPA is dismantled the quicker peace can come to the Philippines. The only thing better than an arrested commie is:

But we don't live amongst people with good sense. We live in a a world where people haven't the slightest clue as to what is going on. We live in a world where 100 years after the bloodshed of the Russian Revolution there are still people attempting what Lenin succeeded at but which ultimately crumbled upon itself 70 years later. We live in a world where people still believe in an economic and political philosophy which has proven to be bankrupt and worthless. We live in the Philippines.

Crack down on dissent? Yeah sure. It has nothing to do with the fact that the dissent is violent nor that he was found with weapons nor with the fact that he, along with other NDFP officials should never have been granted bail in the first place to engage in peace talks with the government. (Don't forget the goal of the CPP is the overthrow of the government therefore no peace is possible.)

War is peace according to Joma Sison. Anyone who thinks more terrorism will lead to peace is a fool and anyone who thinks Baylosis is being persecuted and is not in fact a criminal who deserves to be prosecuted and locked up is also a fool.

Baylosis should have never been allowed out on bail and he should never have been given permission to travel abroad for peace talks. Who in their right mind would free someone accused of mass murder? A Philippine judge told to do so by Duterte in a so-called gesture of goodwill! None of the terrorists released on bail to attend the peace talks should have been released. It was a foolish thing for Duterte to have done and now these terrorists are roaming freely about.

If this will continue, the arrest of the so-called NDF consultants temporarily released on bail, it may come to a point that the NPA declare its own arrest of the GRP negotiators and consultants.
What a ridiculous bit of blackmail just like those Senators who say pass the BBL or be prepared to fight Islamic terrorists. These NDF consultants are all criminals who have been graciously released on bail and as such their bail can be revoked by the courts who granted it if they see fit to do so. That there would be retaliation just shows how evil a group the NPA is.

Be sure to read the information at that link which gives a breakdown of the criminal activities of each terrorist released to take part in the peace talks. These criminals are all bad news.

Yeah it's just dissent. Beheading is free speech.

Now that the NPA rebels are being rounded up let's take a brief look back to 2015 before moving on. 2015 in the Philippines was just like 2008 in the USA when a young upstart from a small backwater was inspiring the nation with promises of hope and change.

The controversial mayor said he believed the NPA was “religiously following” international law when it came to handling captured policemen and soldiers.

“It is time to end the fighting,” he said in a speech at the 131st anniversary of this town, considered one of the last bastions of communist insurgency in the country, on Monday. “Come down from the mountains, come home and let’s talk,” Duterte said, as he asked the crowd who among them were members of the New People’s Army.
“Those who are NPAs raise your hands. Come on, don’t be shy,” he said, as the crowd gamely put their hands up.
Amazing isn't it? Duterte has no clue what he is doing. He's nice, he's mean. He's for peace, he's for war. He praises the NPA for religiously following the Geneva convention regarding POWs, he condemns the NPA for their barbarity:

Communists and deluded leftists who think communism is just fine and any crackdown is a crackdown on free speech aren't the only ones confused about what is going on.

Moro groups slammed the government’s plan to build a second military camp in Marawi City, saying money intended for this purpose should instead go to the needs of people displaced by the five-month war with terrorists.
Aida Ibrahim, spokesperson for the Marawi evacuees’ group, Tindeg Ranao, said they could not understand why the government was building another camp in Marawi when more than 140,000 people were still staying in 67 evacuation centers and relatives’ houses in Lanao del Sur and Lanao del Norte provinces and Iligan City, unable to return home.
“His (Mr. Duterte) bias, obviously, is not for the victims of the Marawi siege,” Ibrahim told the Inquirer on Wednesday.
Could these Muslims be anymore wrong? Why is a second military camp needed in Marawi? Probably has something to do with all the the violent Islamic groups in the area. What is Aida Ibrahim doing for the Marawi refugees? What has she done to quell the violence in the region? Has she been an advocate for peace? Has she condemned those who knew about the build up of arms in the city? Has she called out the culture of rido killings? Or has she engaged in the Islamic pastime of taqyia - concealment through dissimulation? Never trust a Muslim.

Look at how Duterte is biased against the Marawi victims!

Granted obtaining these shelters might be difficult but chalk that up to Philippine culture and the government's eagerness to stem corruption and makes sure true Marawi evacuees are serviced first.

https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/963359/for-marawi-folk-getting-new-houses-not-easy
It turned out that under the guidelines crafted by the government, he was not qualified for the houses because, while he fled the city during the war on Islamic State followers, he did not own a house inside the battle zone.
“We only rented space there,” he said.
Farmida Macabando, head of the Association of Barangay Councils here, said it was the government’s technical working group that prepared the guidelines.
“The recipients must have had a house inside ground zero and possess titles to the lots that these houses had been built on. They should also be [classified as] low-income,” Macabando said.
She said recipients should also secure certification from their village chiefs that they were indeed from the villages inside the war zone.
She cited data showing more than 13,000 families had been certified to be from ground zero and relocating them was priority.
When I mention Philippine culture I mean it.  Owning titles to land is not very culturally relevant to Filipinos who rely on handshakes and oral promises.
Rough “guesstimates” suggest that only about half of the estimated 22 million parcels of land in the country are titled. Most of these untitled properties are located in urban and low income settings, and approximately 39 million Filipinos stand to benefit from the government’s land titling program. In 2012, some 10,000 titles are set to be distributed. This is expected to increase in the next years as the program gains momentum.
This lack of clear land ownership is just one of many obstacles which will make rehabilitating Marawi and its citizens a complicated task.

Aside from the danger of explosion, other factors complicate residents’ returning to the city. Properties often did not have formal titles (a common occurrence in the Philippines), which makes reoccupation of residential lots uncertain
Another source of concern is the ability of violent extremist recruiters to fish in these troubled waters.
Violent extremists recruiting in the area? Tell that to Aida Ibrahim!

  1. Regarding the housing. First the Philippine government has no interest in ending or even stemming corruption as they are making too much money from corruption. Then consider they have been "ending" corruption since Marcos first took office.

Also it seems the only one who gets their house replaced are the low income in the affected area. Whether low income, middle or high income if someone's house was destroyed then the government should replace it. After all if a senator, congressman or other elected officials house was destroyed but your ass they would get it replaced.

    1. But they have to prove that they owned property there. That's why they are requiring a title and a note from their barangay captain which is a lot of hoops to jump through considering they left all they had. Unless titles are on file somewhere which even if they are obtain that paperwork is always a time consuming and expensive task.

And if they owned land how could they be low income?

    2. And just how many fake titles are out there? Then it is nothing to bribe a brgy captain. No, I smell kick backs all the way around.
