PNP Client's Rights

I had the pleasure of visiting a PNP station recently and noticed something rather interesting. A list of Client's Rights.

With all the news about scallywag PNP officers and EJKs it's good to know that the PNP recognises that citizens have rights. It's also good to know that they are on full display for all to see. Right behind an old calendar. Where they can't be seen!

Clients have the right to:
  • Be informed of their rights (this is obviously why the client's rights poster is hidden behind an old calendar)
  • Be treated with respect
  • Be provided with adequate information regarding PNP services
  • Courteous service
  • Respect of privacy
  • Access to their own records
  • Make complaints
Don't forget though that clients also have responsibilities. You must treat PNP officers with the respect they deserve and of course be truthful with them.

On my way out of the station I left fully satisfied in the knowledge that that particular station is a client-friendly station.
