Baguio Wants All Business To Have Clean Restrooms

Earlier this year in February, 2025, Baguio City claimed they were attempting to bring all public restrooms up to ASEAN standards. This project has actually been ongoing since 2020. You can read about that project and all about ASEAN standards in this article

Now Baguio City says they are attempting to get private restrooms up to code.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1261885

The city government is intensifying its campaign for cleaner restroom facilities, giving business establishments until the first quarter of 2026 to fully comply with sanitation standards.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong on Monday said the city will not relax its enforcement.

"It is about time that we take this matter seriously. I want to see transformational results by the first quarter of next year. Our target is 100 percent compliance by March 2026," Magalong said in an interview.

The directive was issued following a closed-door Management Committee meeting on Oct. 21.

The initiative, dubbed “Oplan Kasilyas,” was launched in September, mandating the City Health Services Office’s sanitation division and the Public Order and Safety Division (POSD) to inspect establishments in the central business district.

The inspections cover restroom cleanliness and availability, compliance with the sanitation code, anti-smoking and anti-littering policies, and proper business permits.

As of Oct. 20, the sanitation division inspected 637 establishments. Of those inspected, 539 were compliant while 98 were cited for violations such as unsanitary toilets, lack of handwashing areas, and absence of soap or paper towels.

POSD also inspected 324 establishments in 51 barangays, with 42 failing cleanliness checks and 40 failing odor standards.

Magalong said he will meet with business owners as inspections continue to push for full sanitation compliance by early 2026.

This program only started in September and is concerned with the central business district. That is a huge contrast with the public toilet upgrade program which has been ongoing since 2020. There is also no word on what the exact standards are. For the public toilets the city wants them ASEAN compliant and there is a lengthy PDF with all those standards which can be read online.

https://www.asean.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/ASEAN-Public-Toilet-Standard.pdf

Just from the first inspection it's clear not a single business establishment is up to those rigorous standards which include toilet paper, toilet lids, and with manual or automatic flushing. The picture in the accompanying PNA article shows a huge barrel filled with water which is likely how one cleans themselves and flushes the toilet. It's certainly not impossible for Baguio businesses to clean their restrooms but its not going to be easy.

Insurgency: Lanao Sur Town Declared DI-MG, NPA-Free

1,631 NPA rebels and their supporters have been neutralized between January 1st and November 13th.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1263541

More than 1,600 New People's Army (NPA) rebels and their supporters have been "neutralized" so far this year, further weakening the remnants of the communist guerilla movement in the country.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said 1,631 NPA rebels and sympathizers have either surrendered or been captured or killed from Jan. 1 to Nov. 13.

Of the total number, 1,433 surrendered, 90 were arrested, and 108 were killed in military operations during the period, the AFP said.

The AFP said the high number of surrenders indicates the thinning of rebel ranks and shows the growing inability of the NPA and their allies to threaten the country's security, giving government troops more opportunity to focus on external or territorial defense operations.

A total of 967 assorted firearms were also seized and turned over to authorities during the same time frame, the military said.

Aside from this, the AFP said 4,341 anti-personnel mines were either seized or surrendered, with 138 NPA encampments captured during the period.

Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. earlier said the Marcos administration is committed to improving the lives of former rebels who have willingly chosen the path to peace.

Under the peace agenda of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., former communist insurgents can avail of the national government’s socio-economic projects, as well as its amnesty program to address their legal concerns, enabling them to complete their transformative journey and successfully return to mainstream society.

In 2023, Marcos issued Proclamation 404, granting amnesty to former members of the NPA, as well as of the Communist Party of the Philippines and the National Democratic Front, who have committed crimes punishable under the Revised Penal Code and Special Penal laws in furtherance of their political beliefs, among other offenses.

Again, we see conflicting numbers. How many are actual rebels and how many are actual supporters. The last official public count of remaining rebels was in November 2024 and is 1,111.

(In terms of the strength of the New People's Army, they are really weak. So they only have about 1,111 fighters left from the 2,200 last year. So that is a big reduction in their manpower. And in terms of firearms, the reduction is the same, about 1,000 firearms have been reduced.)

https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/topstories/nation/926473/afp-npa-4-weakened-fronts-1-100-rebels/story/

And yet here we read 1,631 rebels and supporters have surrendered since the beginning of 2025.

Lumbaca Unayan in Lanao del Sur has been declared both NPA and Dawlah Islamiya-Maute Group free. Of course they had a fancy ceremony to celebrate.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1263682

The municipal council of Lumbaca Unayan in Lanao del Sur declared the area free from the influence of the terror Dawlah Islamiya-Maute Group (DI-MG) remnants and the communist New People’s Army (NPA), the military said Thursday.

Lt. Col. Jerry Gaviola, commander of the Philippine Army’s 64th Infantry Battalion, said the declaration was made through Municipal Council Resolutions 16 and 17, which were passed on the same day.

Gaviola said the declaration symbolizes the community’s collective stance against terrorism and local armed groups.

“Today marks a turning point for our municipality. By standing together, we send a powerful message that we will never allow fear, violence, or extremism to rule our community again,” Gaviola said in a statement.

A peace rally at Barangay Oriental Beta's municipal hall also marked the establishment of the Municipal Task Force – Ending Local Armed Conflict (MT-ELAC), aimed at maintaining peace and preventing the resurgence of violent extremism.

The event included a peace motorcade, a walk rally, and the burning of the ISIS flag, all showing the people’s strong rejection of violent extremism.

The DI-MG has long caused many casualties among civilians, creating widespread fear and disruption in affected communities—highlighting the importance of the day’s declaration.

“Your courage to stand against extremism is the true foundation of lasting peace,” Gaviola said.

He noted that Thursday’s declaration is especially timely following successful security operations in Pagayawan, Lanao del Sur, on Nov. 15, which resulted in the death of DI-MG leader Najib Laguindab alias Abu Jihad.

Brig. Gen. Yasser Bara, commander of the Army’s 1101st Infantry Brigade, earlier said that Laguindab was involved in the Dec 3, 2023 bombing at the province’s Mindanao State University (MSU) in Marawi City that killed four people and injured 50 others.

The bombing took place during a mass at MSU’s Dimaporo Gymnasium.

Gaviola said the death of Laguindab weakened extremist influence in the province and reinforced the importance of community-driven peace initiatives.

No word that they burned the NPA or communist flag but its likely seeing as they burned the ISIS flag. Obviously there are still DI-Maute members out there.

In Leyte the Army killed 3 rebels in a clash. They say it's a major blow to the NPA in Leyte but we have heard that before.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1263478

The deaths of a squad leader and two other members of the New People’s Army (NPA) in a clash with government troops in Barangay Pange, Jaro, Leyte, on Monday mark a major setback for the insurgent group’s operations on Leyte Island.

Brig. Gen. Pompeyo Jason Almagro, commander of the Philippine Army’s 802nd Infantry Brigade, said in a phone interview on Tuesday that the NPA’s Island Committee Levox has been significantly weakened following the encounter. With the loss of three fighters from Squad 2, the unit now has only three members left, while Squad 1 retains 12.

According to Almagro, Squad 2 operates in the mountainous areas of central Leyte, while Squad 1 members have been moving within the boundaries of Leyte and Southern Leyte provinces.

“The encounter is a big loss to the NPA, especially since they have already lost the support of communities in Leyte, making it difficult for them to recruit new members,” he told the Philippine News Agency.

The fatalities were identified as Fidel Lagado, alias Rod/Jason; medical officer Maricel Anora, alias Yenyen/Gani; and political guide Jun Berino, alias Sonny/Danny.

Berino, who took part in various anti-government protests before the 2020 pandemic, had been tagged by the military as a top NPA recruiter.

Soldiers recovered a carbine rifle, three caliber .45 pistols, three rifle grenades, three mobile phones, subversive documents, and personal belongings at the encounter site.

“We sympathize with the death of the three NPA members, but we have not wavered in our call for them to come down and surrender to achieve true peace in their lives,” Almagro said. “This incident could have been avoided if they had listened to the government's call. Once again, we urge the remaining NPA members in Leyte to surrender while it is still possible.”

The Army’s 93rd Infantry Battalion is assisting the families of the slain rebels and coordinating their burial.

It's a big blow because they can't recruit. But the AFP has been big on preventing recruitment. Why if they NPA cannot recruit due to the loss of support from the surrounding communities?

Recovered from this encounter was the weapon of a soldier beheaded by the NPA in 2023.

https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/2143618/firearm-of-beheaded-soldier-recovered-from-encounter-site-in-leyte

A handgun recovered from a clash between government troops and New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in Jaro, Leyte, has been confirmed to be the service firearm of an Army soldier who was tortured and beheaded by the rebels in 2023, the 8th Infantry Division reported Thursday.

The caliber .45 pistol was found during a post-encounter clearing operation following the Nov. 17 armed clash between 8ID troops and remnants of the NPA’s Island Committee Levox.

The battle resulted in the deaths of three rebels and the earlier seizure of two high-powered firearms.

Military verification showed that the recovered pistol belonged to the late Private First Class Aries Ampoan, who was beheaded by communist rebels on April 2, 2023, during an encounter in Abuyog, Leyte.

The 8ID said the weapon serves as vital evidence linking the NPA rebels to the atrocity.

“This is a significant step in securing justice for Pfc. Ampoan,” Major Gen. Adonis Ariel Orio, the commanding officer of the  8th ID, said in a statement, noting that the find reinforces intelligence assessments connecting the slain rebels to previous attacks against government forces.

Orio added that the recovery confirms both the accountability of the group and the urgency of sustaining security operations across the region.

“Our commitment goes beyond securing communities; it extends to upholding International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and pursuing justice for our fallen soldiers,” Orio said.

He added: “This encounter brings undeniable clarity to the heinous nature of the enemy we face and provides crucial accountability for their crimes.”

The three NPA fatalities were identified as Fidel Lagado alias “Ivan,” Rogelio Berino alias “Jun,” and Maricel Anora alias “Gani.”

In compliance with IHL, the 8ID turned over their remains to their families through the coordination of the local government of Jaro and ensured arrangements for their dignified burial.

The three slain rebels belonged to the Island Committee Levox of the communist group in the region.

It certainly is a "significant step in securing justice for Pfc. Ampoan." Who knows but one of the three men killed chopped off his head. Of course there are 12 members of squad 2 left so his killer might still be alive.

The NPA continues to use anti-personnel mines which is against the Geneva convention.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1263465

Army troops recovered two anti-personnel mines planted near a civilian foot trail in Surigao del Sur, military officials reported Tuesday (Nov. 18, 2025).

The 75th Infantry Battalion discovered the explosives during a patrol on Nov. 15 in Barangay San Pedro, Marihatag town.

Lt. Col. Earl Pardillo, battalion commander, condemned the use of the mines, calling it a “grave violation of International Humanitarian Law.”

“Even children could have been the victims,” Pardillo said, noting the trail is regularly used by residents.

The recovered explosives are now in secure custody for disposal by Army ordnance teams.

But alls fair in war right? What does the NPA care about following the rules of war. The only rule of war is kill your enemy. Right?

A suspect in the 2019 Cotabato church bombing surrendered to the PNP.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1263595

A suspect in the 2019 bombing in North Cotabato that wounded five people surrendered to police Tuesday, officials announced Wednesday (Nov. 19, 2025).

The suspect, identified as "Alias Nasser," is a 40-year-old member of the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front's military wing.

Brig. Gen. Arnold Ardiente, Police Regional Office-12 director, said police conducted negotiations with the suspect's family after he sent a surrender feeler.

“When the feeler was verified and validated, the police negotiated directly with the suspect’s family for his peaceful surrender,” Ardiente said.

Police presented the suspect with his warrant for multiple frustrated murder with double attempted murder, which carries a PHP200,000 bail bond.

Turns out he is a member of the MILF. That is interesting because it is the MILF who runs the BARMM. Imagine that.

Hi, My Name is...65

In this edition of Hi, My Name is....we are back to profiling foreigners in the Philippines. Many people think they can hide out in this archipelago but the long arm of the law always catches up to them.

Hi, my name is Choi Seung. Back in my home country of South Korea I was "the head of a telecom scam syndicate obtaining PHP215 million from some 800 victims from 2015 to 2016." After scamming everything I could I went on the run to the Philippines thinking I could hide from the authorities but they found me.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1183018

Authorities nabbed a South Korean fugitive in Muntinlupa City who is wanted for telecommunications fraud in his home country, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said Tuesday.

Citing reports from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Azurin said the suspect Choi Seung, 36, was arrested by members of the CIDG and the Fugitive Search Unit of the Bureau of Immigration in Alabang on Monday.

Seung is the subject of a red notice from the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) for transnational crime.

Reports gathered by the PNP reveal that the subject is the head of a telecom scam syndicate obtaining PHP215 million from some 800 victims from 2015 to 2016.

“The PNP is always ready to respond to complaints especially if it involves a large-scale fraud such as this. Kaligtasan niyo, sagot ko! But this is a team effort so we recognize the dedication shown by everyone in the organization to resolving cases involving foreign nationals,” Azurin said in a statement.

The PNP will properly coordinate with South Korean authorities to determine the proceedings in handling this case.

Hi, my name is John Anthony Cole. I was driving my large For Everest SUV when I hit a tricycle. INstaed of stopping to help I sped off. The tricycle driver chased after me, blocked me, but then I hit him again which caused him to smash into two other vehicles. At least he didn't die.

https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1671811/british-man-nabbed-in-cavite-hit-and-run

A British national was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 27, for hitting a tricycle and driving away after the incident in General Mariano Alvarez town in Cavite province.

The Region 4A police, in a report, said John Anthony Cole was traveling around 5:45 p.m. aboard a Ford Everest when he hit a tricycle driven by Ernani Dapuran inside a subdivision in Barangay Gregoria De Jesus.

Instead of stopping, Cole sped off and left the scene.

Dapuran gave chase and managed to block the suspect’s vehicle along Congressional Road.

But Cole hit Dapuran’s vehicle again. The wayward tricycle consequently hit two vehicles.

Police who responded to the incident arrested Cole and put him under detention. He is facing appropriate criminal charges.

Hi, my name is John Crotty. In my home country of the United Kingdom I was imprisoned for six years. Shortly after that I moved to the Philippines as a tourist. Of course I did not plan on leaving so I stayed. IN February Interpol released a green notice for me. When the PNP arrested me they found obscene photos of underage Filipinos on my website and social media accounts. Now I am being investigated for those photos.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1184935

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Thursday reported the arrest of a 64-year-old convicted sex offender for allegedly running a child sex website in the Philippines.

In a statement, BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco identified the foreigner as John Crotty, who was arrested last Sept. 15 in his rented home in Tangub City, Misamis Occidental.

The arrested foreign national was also investigated for alleged film piracy after the arresting officers found pieces of evidence of him distributing obscene photos of underage Filipino girls on his website and social media accounts.

He was reportedly jailed for nine years in the United Kingdom (UK) but moved to the country shortly after his release from prison.

According to BI Intelligence Chief Fortunato Manahan Jr., the operation was conducted by joint enforcers from the BI's Fugitive Search Unit and Intelligence Division, in coordination with the Tangub City police.

“The arrest followed after receiving official communication from British authorities informing us that Crotty became the subject of an Interpol green notice that was issued last February 21," he said.

The BI official added that Crotty had hidden in the Philippines since Feb. 6 when he arrived in the country as a tourist and has since overstayed.

Meanwhile, Tansingco vowed to prioritize the arrest and deportation of sex offenders such as Crotty who prey on vulnerable victims online.

“These predators pose a serious threat to our women and children and there is no place for them here," he said.

Crotty was also placed on the BI blacklist effectively barring him from re-entering the country.

Hi, my name is Jack Liu. I am a Chinese businessman. I had a fiancee but we broke up. Wanting to get back to her I told her to meet up with me or I would leak our sex tapes online. She did not believe me so I sent one to a friend. That got her attention and the attention of the PNP.

A 31-year-old Chinese businessman accused of “sextortion” was nabbed in an entrapment in Iloilo City last week.

Jack Liu, of Barangay Muelle Loney, was nabbed by the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 6 (RACU-6) on October 12 after his former fiancée complained that he threatened to leak their sex videos on social media if she would not agree to meet up with him

According to a report Sunday of Lt. Col. Artemio Ricabo, RACU-6 Officer-in-Charge, the victim also alleged abusive behavior by Liu.

“The suspect, not wanting to end their relationship, started threatening the victim that he will spread their sex videos if she leaves him,” Ricabo said in a statement.

The victim ignored Liu’s threats at first until he sent their video to one of her friends.

RACU-6 set up the operation when the victim agreed to meet her former lover at a lodge in Molo district.

As soon as the victim entered the room, operatives immediately followed and arrested the suspect, who was caught naked.

“I commend the personnel of RACU 6 and Iloilo Police Station for a job well done. The immediate decision of the victim to seek our help led to the arrest of the suspect,” PNP-ACG chief Brig. Gen. Joel Doria said in another statement.

Hi, our names are Lai Po Ving, Amritpal, and Pritpal Singh. One of us is Taiwanese and the other two are Indian. We were all intercepted at Clark airport by the Bureau of Immigration. Lai Po Ving had a fake visa and passport, had been deported previously, and was wanted back in Taiwan for drug offenses. Amritpal, and Pritpal Singh were caught with fake Philippine visas and stamps. They sent us all back to our home countries.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1186620

A Taiwanese wanted for drug-related crimes and two Indian nationals using fake immigration stamps were recently apprehended by Bureau of Immigration (BI) officers at the Clark International Airport.

BI Intelligence Division chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. identified the Taiwanese as Lai Po Ving, 33, and the Indian nationals as Amritpal, 30 and Pritpal Singh, 24, who all attempted to board a Tiger Air flight bound for Singapore last Oct. 6.

He said Lai initially presented his Turkish passport bearing the name Lai Bulut along with his Special Investor's Resident Visa (SIRV) card.

But after further verification of his travel history and documents, it was learned that he is the subject of a summary deportation order issued last April 2021 for violation of the terms and conditions of his stay under the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940.

The foreigner was also discovered to be wanted by the Taiwan Police Attache for violation of the Anti-Illegal Drug Act.

"He tried to evade prosecution for his crime by using his Turkish passport, but his plan was foiled by our officers who were very thorough in checking his records," said Manahan in a statement.

Meanwhile, Amritpal and Singh were intercepted for having passports that were affixed with counterfeit Philippine entry visas, visa extension stickers, and arrival stamps.

The three erring foreign nationals were turned over to the BI’s legal division pending deportation proceedings.

BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco commended immigration officers for the triple apprehension.

"These arrests are a testament to our officers' vigilance in manning our ports. Rest assured that we will remain true to our mission to contribute to national security and development,” he said.

He also warned foreigners who try to evade immigration laws by using false documents.

"These attempts to use (fake) visas and stamps to clear immigration inspection are futile. Our officers undergo rigorous training to detect dubious documents," Tansingco said.

Hi, my name is Victor Patrick. I am a Ghanaian and I came to the Philippines as a tourist in 2019. Later I applied for a missionary visa. But my real mission was to hack and rob ATMs. However, I am part of a much larger syndicate.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1187352

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Friday announced the arrest of a Ghanaian national suspected to be the mastermind of a West African syndicate that hacks automated teller machines (ATMs) in the Philippines.

In a media release, Immigration Intelligence Division Chief, Fortunato Manahan Jr., identified the African as Victor Patrick, 34, arrested in a joint operation conducted by members of the BI and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) last Oct. 14 in the parking lot of a mall in Bicutan.

According to the Immigration officer, a mission order was issued following a letter sent by local intelligence authorities regarding Patrick's illegal activities in the country.

"The AFP said that Patrick is one of the prime suspects involved in an ATM hacking syndicate. He has been seen to frequent several big banks in Barangay Moonwalk in Parañaque," Manahan said.

Manahan said that after verification of Patrick's travel history and visa status, it was learned that the foreigner arrived in the country last April 20, 2019 using a tourist visa and applied for a missionary visa, which was petitioned by a Cebu-based company.

Immigration agents then conducted surveillance on the declared address of the company and discovered that it does not exist.

Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said Patrick will be facing deportation charges for violation of Section 37(a)(9) of the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940 after obtaining an immigration document under false statement and representation.

"Patrick's visa is deemed void from the start considering that it was obtained by means of fraud," he said.

Tansingco added that they are in close coordination with local law enforcement agencies to locate and arrest possible cohorts and other foreign scammers that might be in the country.

Hi, my name is Andrew Clark Stewart. I'm from Canada. I've been staying illegally in the Philippines for a while now. I probably would have gotten away with it if my neighbors had not reported my unruly behavior. Now I will be deported back to Canada.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1188493

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Monday reported the arrest of an overstaying Canadian national for the alleged destruction of properties in their subdivision in Pampanga.

In a statement, Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said Andrew Clark Stewart, 62, was arrested at around 10 a.m. in front of his house in Angeles City last Oct. 18.

He was apprehended based on a complaint for his unruly behavior in the subdivision where he resides.

“When our officers approached Stewart, he failed to present a valid passport or any identification card. He was then arrested for being in flagrante undocumented,” the BI chief said.

The foreigner is now facing a deportation case for violating the conditions of his stay under the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940, for overstaying, and for being an undocumented immigrant.

“This should serve as a warning to foreigners who wish to stay in the country. Legalize your stay and behave appropriately or face detention and deportation,” Tansingco added.

The foreigner is currently at the BI detention center in Bicutan, Taguig pending deportation proceedings.

Hi, our names are Ko Chang Hwan and Min Seokchul. We are both South Koreans. Min was arrested for overstaying and I was arrested because I'm wanted for importing illegal drugs in my home country.

And our names are Lu Changyong and Lu Changxin. We are both wanted for large scale fraud in our home country of China.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1188980

Four foreigners were recently arrested in separate operations conducted by the fugitive search unit (FSU) of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) in Pasay City and Oriental Mindoro.

According to BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco, the fugitives, two South Koreans and two Chinese nationals were apprehended on Oct. 25 and on Nov. 2, respectively.

Arrested last month inside a condominium unit along Balagtas St., Pasay City was Ko Chang Hwan, 52, who is wanted by authorities in his country for importing illegal drugs.

The BI-FSU said the foreign national is the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the Suwon district court in Ansan, South Korea where he is charged with violating his country’s narcotics control act.

During the operation, the agents encountered inside Ko’s residence another Korean national, Min Seokchul, 44, who was found to be overstaying since 2018.

On the other hand, the BI team arrested early this month Lu Changyong, 48, and Lu Changxin, 46, at a beach resort in Puerto Galera.

They are both wanted for large-scale fraud.

The Chinese government said the two fugitives are subjects of arrest warrants issued by the public security bureau in Jilin, China for committing contract fraud in violation of the country’s criminal law.

All of them are currently detained at the BI warden facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City pending deportation.

Hi, our names are Minh Viet Phan and Chi Trung Nguyen and we are Vietnamese. We kidnapped a fellow Vietnamese woman and held for a ransom. Thankfully her boyfriend paid the requested 1 million pesos. Though we had requested 50 million initially. But of course the law caught up with us and we have been arrested for kidnaping.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1189293

Two Vietnamese nationals were arrested for kidnapping their compatriot, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported on Wednesday.

Citing the report of the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group, PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. identified the suspects as Minh Viet Phan, 29, and Chi Trung Nguyen, 27, who were apprehended by AKG operatives on Nov. 17 and 18, respectively.

Their arrest came after the kidnap victim, a Vietnamese woman, was rescued in Antipolo City on Nov. 16.

Reports showed that on Oct. 29, the victim known as "Ms. Anne" left a hotpot restaurant at the Aseana Business Park near the corner of Macapagal Boulevard and Aseana Avenue in Parañaque City to meet someone in a bar and did not return.

At around 9 p.m. on the same day, the victim’s boyfriend received messages and video of the victim being beaten by the alleged kidnappers through Telegram and demanded PHP50 million from him in exchange for her safe release.

In the course of negotiation, the ransom was reduced to PHP1 million which was transferred in two tranches to a bank account given by the suspects for the victim’s safe release.

The victim was then abandoned by her captors at Blue Mountain, Sumulong Highway, Antipolo City where she was rescued.

On Nov. 17, a follow-up operation was conducted by AKG members, resulting in the arrest of Minh in his condominium at around 7 p.m at La Verti Residences, Pasay City while Chi was arrested at around 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 18, at a karaoke bar in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City

The suspects are undergoing investigation prior to the filing of the criminal complaint as prime suspects for kidnapping for ransom and serious illegal detention.

Operations are underway to arrest other suspects in the crime.

The God Culture: Calling on His Name Book Review

Timothy Jay Schwab who is The God Culture hates Jesus Christ. He hates Jesus Christ so much that he has devoted a whole chapter in his new study guide for high schoolers and college students about why he hates Him.  Let's take a look at this blasphemy.

Calling on His Name

Lesson Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will:

Understand why the Messiah’s true Name must include the Father’s Name (John 5:43).

Learn that Yahusha (יהושע) literally means “Yahu is Salvation.”

Recognize that “Jesus” is a later Greek-Latin construct lacking the Hebrew meaning.

See scriptural proof that salvation is tied to the Name of the Father.

Realize prophetic fulfillment requires the form “Yahu-sha.”

Begin transitioning prayer, worship, and identity back to the true Name.

Key Scriptures

Passage Hebraic Truth

John 5:43 “I am come in My Father’s Name.” → Messiah must bear Yahu (יהו)

within His Name.

Acts 4:12 “There is no other Name under heaven given among men whereby we

must be saved.”

Joel 2:32 / “Whoever calls on the Name of YHWH (יהוה) shall be saved.”

Romans 10:13

Matthew 1:21 “He shall save His people…” → Hebrew context: YAH saves.

Philippians “A Name above every Name” — rooted in the Father’s Name.

2:9-11

Hebrew Form יהושע (Yahusha) “Yahu is Salvation.”

SECTION 1 – The Prophecy: Messiah Must Come in the Father’s Name

• “I am come in My Father’s Name.” — John 5:43

• If He came in the Father’s Name, it must appear within His own.

Components of the Name:

• Yahu (והי) = the Father’s short form.

• Yasha (ישע) = “to save / deliver.”

Combined → Yahu + sha = Yahusha (יהושע) = “Yahu is Salvation.”

This fulfills both linguistic and prophetic precision.

SECTION 2 – The Hebrew Proof: Yahusha (יהושע)

Form Meaning Usage / Notes

יהושע (Yahusha) “Yahu is Salvation” Original Hebrew form = Joshua

ישוע (Yeshua) Shortened post-exilic, Pharisaic corruption Drops “Yahu” entirely

Ἰησοῦς (IÄ“sous) Greek transliteration of Yahusha Requires “-s” ending

Iesus / Jesus Latinized → Anglicized Lacks Hebrew meaning

Scriptural Proof — Acts 7:45

“Our fathers brought in with Jesus (Ἰησοῦς) into the possession of the Gentiles…”

It refers to Joshua son of Nun—the Hebrew Yahusha.

Therefore: Ἰησοῦς = Joshua = Yahusha.

There is no scriptural equation linking “Yeshua” to Jesus.

• Conclusion:

Jesus = Joshua = Yahusha (יהושע) — “Yahu is Salvation.”

“Yeshua” = a later supposed abbreviation (same syllables) that erased the Name.

SECTION 3 – Why “Jesus” Lacks the Hebraic Meaning

Greek limitations caused critical losses:

Hebrew Sound Greek Replacement Result

“Y” “I” (“EY” Sound still) Yah → I- (which is never “J”)

“H” dropped loss of breath sound

“Sh” (ש) “S” phonetic change

Masculine ending “-s” required becomes Iesous

Result:

• “Jesus” no longer connects to YHWH or the Hebrew concept of salvation.

• Restoring Yahusha revives both prophetic integrity and meaning.

SECTION 4 – Scripture Demands the Full Name

Prophecy Fulfillment in Yahusha

Joel 2:32 — “Call on the Name of YHWH to be saved.” Yahusha = “Yahu saves.”

Matthew 1:21 — “He shall save His people.” His very Name = salvation.

Acts 4:12 — “No other Name under heaven.” Must include Yahu.

Philippians 2:10 — “At the Name every knee shall bow.” A Name above all Names

= YHWH present.

Only Yahusha fulfills prophecy both linguistically and theologically.

SECTION 5 – Apostolic Witness

• Prophets’ names preserve Yahu (Eliyahu, YeshaYahu, MattithYahu).

• Hallelu-YAH remains untouched in Revelation.

• It would be inconsistent for the Messiah alone not to bear the Father’s Name.

There is no equation of Yeshua as Jesus in any scripture — only Joshua, whose Hebrew

form is Yahusha.

pgs. 37-39

There is so much wrong here. First of all the New Testament was written in Greek, not Hebrew. The name of our Saviour in Greek is IESUOS.

The name of Jesus in Greek is á¼¸Î·ÏƒÎ¿á¿¦Ï‚ (IÄ“sous).

It's pronounced roughly as "Ee-ay-soos."

  • Grammar: It is a masculine noun.

  • Etymology: The Greek name Ἰησοῦς is a transliteration of the Hebrew-Aramaic name Yeshua (ישוע), which is a shortened form of Yehoshua (יהושע), meaning "The Lord is salvation" or "Yahweh saves."

What Tim is ultimately saying is the Greek New Testament is corrupt and unreliable. This is a direct attack against the inerrancy and inspiration of the scriptures. It highlights the fact that Tim is not a linguist.

5:06 We are not linguists nor do we care to be but you will find no linguist is necessary in this case because come along with us and we'll interpret this together.

Second all Jesus identified Himself with YHWH!

Exodus 3:13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?

14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

The I AM THAT I AM is the same tetragrammaton in Exodus 6:3 translated Jehovah.

And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

Jesus is Jehovah, YHWH, which Tim claims is properly translated as Yahuha. Jesus is the ultimate revelation of YHWH and the fulfillment of the entire Old Testament. To ignore that is to not understand the meaning of YHWH. It's not about pronunciation, it's about the revelation of the Person of Jesus Christ who is the only mediator between God and men.

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

In Isaiah 6 we read:

1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

LORD is YHWH.  Isaiah saw YHWH.  John says this was Jesus.

John 12:37 But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:

38 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?

39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,

40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

41 These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.

The Biblical testimony is crystal clear. Jesus is YHWH. Tim completely ignores that testimony. In fact, he completely messes this up by declaring YHWH is the name of the Father only.
In prayer, in research, in worship, we began to see a pattern emerge: the Name of the Father—יהוה (YHWH)—was present in Scripture thousands of times, then hidden under titles. The Name of the Son—יהושע (Yahusha)—was replaced by transliterations stripped of prophetic meaning. Our identity as a people called by His Name was blurred.
Calling on His Name, pg. 5
It cannot be overstated that YHWH is not the name of the Father. It's the name of the triune God and Jesus identifies Himself with that name. This is heretical Christology rooted in Hebrew Roots and the sacred Name movement. But Tim does not stop here. He carries his doctrine into worship.
+ Discussion Questions

What does it mean that Yahusha came in the Father’s Name?

Does it matter if “Jesus” carries no Hebrew meaning?

Which form — Yahusha or Jesus — aligns with Scripture’s prophecies?

How does this affect how we pray, worship, and declare salvation?

+ Prayer Focus

“Yahuah, if Your Son carried Your Name, help me honor that Name fully.

Give me courage to return to what Your Word clearly shows.”

+ Memory & Practice Challenge

• Speak aloud: “Yahusha ha’Mashiach = Yahu is Salvation, the Anointed One.”

• End prayers: “…in the Name of Yahusha.”

• Say “Hallelu-YAH” with full understanding and conviction.

The Restoration: Calling on His Name in Spirit and Truth — How Revival Begins with

Returning to YHWH.

(Concludes with a worship-night style celebration of the restored Name and identity.)

The implication here is that the name of Jesus offers no salvation. We have to utter the correct and now restored names Tim has made up, Yahusha and Yahuah. That is the message of this study guide. That is the message of Tim's new group Foundations Rising.

There is not much more to say. Tim hates the name above all names, Jesus Christ. He prefers his own made-up Hebrew names of Yahuah and Yahusha. He is on record agreeing that the name of Jesus is evil.

Lost Isles of Gold LIVE Series - Part 13: End Times Prophecy of the Ophir Philippines

@rosecalero7369 Jesus is evil. Christ is evil. Messiah is not Jesus. It’s the God of Catholic Church and Christianity. Ophir is a Hebrew country.

@TheGodCulture Yah Bless.

Timothy does not merely prefer a different pronunciation. Hdeclares the name Jesus, the name given by the angel (Matt 1:21), preached by apostles (Acts 4:12), confessed by martyrs, and exalted above every name (Phil 2:9–11), to be meaningless, corrupted, and insufficient for salvation. That is not a minor linguistic debate. That is a direct attack on the revealed name of God incarnate. This book makes it perfectly clear that Timothy Jay Schwab who is the God Culture hates the name of Jesus Christ.
