Idiot Congressman Admits Paying the NPA Extortion Fees

In their rush to condemn the CHR and justify giving it a 1,000 peso budget elected officials are sure saying the darnedest things and making themselves look like bigger fools then they already are.

http://www.philstar.com/headlines/2017/09/17/1739962/duterte-slams-chr-chief-are-you-pedophile
President Duterte last night heaped insults anew at Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Chairman Chito Gascon, asking him if he is “gay” or a “pedophile.”
Duterte again hit the CHR for allegedly being so concerned with the killing of teenagers in the government’s war against drugs but ignoring other cases of abuse.
Itong si Gascon…parang pedophile kang pu**** i** ka! Bakit ka mahilig masyado sa teenager (This Gascon…he is like a pedophile, son of a b****! Why are you so fond of teenagers)?” Duterte said in Davao after the release of SPO2 George Canete Rupinta, who had been held for three months by the New People’s Army.
“Nagdududa tuloy ako eh. Bakla ka o pedophile ka? (I now have my doubts. Are you gay or a pedophile)? Why is this guy suffocated about the issue of young people, especially boys? Are you a pedophile? Do you want the young? You almost cry blood. Of course it’s repugnant. You are so fixated with young males. So I have doubts if you are a pedophile, gago ka (you are stupid), idiot,” he added.
Duterte also said he wants to meet Gascon one of these days, and accused the CHR chief of being a political pawn and spokesman of the Liberal Party and other critics who want him out of the presidency.
Duterte is right about Gascon being a political pawn.  But Duterte is the one making the moves. Not the Liberal Party.

It is expected that Duterte's dirty mouth will always spew his twisted thoughts every time he opens it. But check out the foot this congressman just stuck in his mouth.

http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/930993/philippine-news-updates-oriental-mindoro-rep-reynaldo-umali-npa-chr
Oriental Mindoro Rep. Reynaldo Umali on Friday said the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) had only itself to blame for the House of Representatives’ decision to cut the agency’s 2018 budget to P1,000.
Umali, a lawyer who chairs the House justice committee, said the CHR never said a word when the human rights of congressmen were violated.
“Actually we are victims ourselves,” he said, citing cases when the communist New People’s Army (NPA) extorted fees for permits to campaign in areas controlled by the insurgents.
“There’s no effort to protect the rights of the elected representatives of the people,” said Umali, who graduated from  Manuel L. Quezon University College of Law in 1987.

The 60-year-old lawmaker said the CHR should have also looked into human rights violations committed by others besides the police and the military.
This man just admitted that he paid extortion fees to the NPA so he could campaign for election.  He just admitted that he is helping to finance the NPA! He just admitted that his hands are covered in the blood of all the innocent civilians, soldiers, and PNP officers the NPA has ruthlessly slaughtered.

Did he even think about the implications of what he just said?  He has literally admitted to aiding and abetting terrorists!! He admitted that he has paid these fees like a little scared puppy dog who cannot stand up for what is right!! He admitted that he is basically a worthless scoundrel who won't protect the Filipinos or the Philippines from terrorists but will instead cave into their demands!! He admitted that the NPA is in control and that the Philippine government is not.

Did he alert the PNP? The NBI? The AFP?  Did he ask for help from the CHR who he thinks should have investigated the case?  Did he tell anyone ever????  Or did he just pay the extortion and shut his mouth like a good little boy who does what he is told?

As an elected official and a lawyer this guy represents the best and the brightest the Philippines has to offer.  What a shame.

As for his idiotic statement that the CHR should have looked into human rights violations committed by non-sate actors maybe this infographic will help him get sorted out.  Probably not.

Three Different Stories With One Common Denominator

Three different stories with one common denominator.  Can you guess what it is?

http://usa.inquirer.net/6725/five-filipinos-alaska-accused-stealing-365k-medicaid
Prosecutors said that the five accused allegedly stole $364,756 by pretending Regino Aldeza suffered from serious disabilities, needing help “in all aspects of life, including eating, locomotion, toileting, meal preparation, basic household chores, basic walking and range of motion exercises, and personal hygiene.” The Department of Health and Social Services approved Aldeza’s brothers to provide round-the-clock care paid for through Medicaid.
The alleged fraud was exposed on March 18 when an employee of Arctic Care Services, a personal care agency that works with DHSS, recognized Regino Aldeza at the food court of the Dimond Center. Aldeza, who was supposed to be “significantly disabled,” was seen working at a fast food restaurant at the food court.

https://www.rappler.com/nation/181332-filipinos-deportation-united-states-trump-daca-amnesty
Up to 10,000 Filipinos face possible deportation from the United States after President Donald Trump ended an Obama-era amnesty for young immigrants, the Philippines said Wednesday, September 6.
The amnesty, called the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), was meant to protect from deportation 800,000 people brought to the US illegally as minors.
In a statement on Wednesday, Philippine Foreign Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano said, "While we hope for the best in the form of a legislative solution, those affected should likewise prepare for the worst."
The DFA said it "will assist an estimated 10,000 Filipinos who may end up getting deported as a result of Washington's decision."
"In any event, we are ready to welcome and assist our kababayans (countrymen) in whatever way we can if they are returned to the Philippines," Cayetano added.
http://www.philstar.com/headlines/2017/09/16/1739626/entire-caloocan-city-police-force-sacked
Last month at the Police Service anniversary, the Caloocan Police received an award as the Best City Police Station.
Yesterday, the entire city police force was sacked, with only the newly installed chief and his deputy spared, following the killings of teenagers and a break-in and robbery by city policemen.
National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Oscar Albayalde ordered the relief and retraining of the sacked police personnel.
The order came a day after members of the Caloocan Police Community Precinct 4 raided an elderly woman’s home and reportedly stole money and other valuables in an incident captured on closed circuit television camera.

Did you guess what the common denominator is? It's Filipinos! Filipinos failing both at home and abroad. The quintessence of Philippinefails.

Why would anyone immigrate to a country and then proceed to rob it by committing fraud and not even covering their tracks? How ungrateful and stupid.

Why would anyone illegally sneak their children into a country not considering the risks for them?  How does a Filipino even sneak his family into the USA? Swimming??

But these people are not just anyone. They are Filipinos. These Filipinos abroad are only taking part in the same kind of corrupt and illegal activities as their counterparts at home. Police raiding an elderly woman's home and robbing her? That's par for the course. With the bloodthirsty and incompetent PNP killing drug suspects left and right and using Facebook rumours as a source of intel it's a wonder they didn't kill the old biddy too.

What else can be expected from one of the world's most corrupt countries? People learn by example and how you behave at home is how you will behave abroad.

http://news.abs-cbn.com/focus/01/25/17/ph-still-among-worlds-most-corrupt-countries-transparency-intl-index
Don't make the mistake of thinking this only applies to the government as if only the government is evil and corrupt and the citizens are all sweet little angels burdened and bewildered by all this corruption. The government isn't a faceless machine. It's comprised of ordinary citizens. That's right. It's not only high ranking elected officials plundering the treasury but also ordinary citizens working in the various bureaucracies who help make the Philippines as corrupt as it is.

Anyone who has ever lent a Filipino money and tried to be reimbursed will tell you just how corrupt ordinary citizens are.

Who is Really Destabilising the Philippines?

If there is one thing that repeatedly comes up in the blogosphere and in the news that is most irritating and perplexing it would have to be the notion of the "destabilisation plot."  It works like this:

Duterte is the best president the Philippines has ever had and the only reason his policies are failing is because the opposition political party (the Yellows or LP or Liberal Party) or nefarious foreign actors (the CIA) are actually and potentially planning to destabilise the government and oust Duterte.

There are a few names perennially associated with these plots: Sen. Trillanes, Leni Robredo, Leila De Lima, and rich Filipina Loida Lewis among others.  Loida Lewis is the widow of a rich American and has millions of dollars to spend on influencing the public and subverting the political sphere of the Philippines all the way from her home in NYC. But of course Robredo, De Lima, and the whole Yellow Party apparatus are also blamed.

Let's take a look at just the tip of the iceberg of this nonsense. Where to start though? There is so much garbage to wade through. It's like the Pasig River!

http://www.philstar.com/headlines/2017/05/01/1695660/yellows-behind-destabilization-face-raps-solgen
Solicitor General Jose Calida yesterday claimed that the “yellows” are behind a destabilization plot against the administration of President Duterte and warned that they would be made to pay for it.
Calida told The STAR that his office has started gathering evidence in preparation for criminal cases against those behind the plan to bring down the Duterte administration.
There are obviously many attempts to bring down the President, which are part of a grand plan. Now, they are doing it before the international community to gather attention and sympathy,” he stressed.
I am now building the cases. To paraphrase a Bible verse, they who sow the wind shall reap the whirlwind,” he added.
Calida did not identify who would be the possible subjects of the cases, but stressed they are mostly “yellows” or political personalities identified with the Liberal Party.
He believes the complaint filed by Jude Jose Sabio, lawyer of self-confessed hit man Edgar Matobato, was baseless and only meant to destabilize the administration.
“Matobato is being coddled by (Sen. Antonio) Trillanes. So you would know the agenda right away,” Calida said.
Asked if he believes former president Benigno Aquino III could be part of the destabilization plot, Calida said: “He is the yellowest of them all.”
SolGen Calida is a funny guy.  If anyone is destabilising the government it is men like him who allowed the Marawi siege to take place knowing about it full well in advance.

http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/904802/solgen-govt-had-advance-info-on-marawi-siege
This information came out after the fake news story about Trillanes and Bam Aquino meeting Maute leaders and plotting the Marawi attack spread all over Facebook.

http://news.abs-cbn.com/news/06/07/17/aguirre-minority-senators-meet-with-marawi-leaders-could-have-sparked-siege
All these allegations of destabilisation and ouster plots are pure nonsense. The fever dreams of diehard Duterte loyalists who do not take criticism lightly and think every bit of criticism is one piece of an intricate plot to destabilise the country and oust Duterte. They can't even get their story straight.  Is it the Yellows? The CIA? Robredo? Trillanes? Aquino? Maybe it's the Bavarian Illuminati? Or how about the CFR or the Trilateral Commission or the Jesuits or the Masons?  So many groups to choose from. Does the CFR even care about what happens in the Philippines?

Take a look at the date on the headline "Yellows to face raps."  That is from May 1, 2017.  In that article Calida says he is building the cases which means more than one person is being investigated. So where are the charges? Is the investigation still ongoing? Who is doing the investigating?  Who is being investigated and for what exactly? It's all bunk. More than likely there never was and never has been an investigation into any so-called destabilisation plot because there has never been any such plot in the first place.

http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/news/nation/624479/no-proof-of-lp-destabilization-slay-plot-vs-duterte-dnd/story/
Not even Duterte believes in these byzantine plots.

http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/882174/duterte-downplays-destabilization-plot-just-politics-criticism
The truth is there is a destabilisation plot and the mastermind is Duterte. Everything he and his administration have done and continue to do is destabilising the country. Have a look.

Duterte taking loans from China to fund his "golden age of infrastructure" is going to bust the economy for years to come and economically enslave future generations of Filipinos.

http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/money/economy/610707/duterte-s-p8-2-t-infra-program-may-force-phl-into-virtual-debt-bondage-analyst/story/
Duterte funding major infrastructure from the government's coffers rather than through private contractors is putting a strain on the peso causing it to depreciate.

Duterte not caring about human rights has led to the CHR having it's budget slashed to 1,000 pesos and this has spooked foreign investors.

http://business.inquirer.net/236837/eccp-philippines-foreign-investors-chr-budget-p1000-guenter-taus-europe
Duterte kowtowing to China has led to China threatening the Philippines if it drills for oil in its own territory which has grave repercussions for Philippine sovereignty.

Duterte not taking terrorism seriously has had disastrous results such as Abu Sayyaf sneaking to Bohol to find more foreigners to kidnap for ransom.
http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/795092/duterte-abu-sayyaf-are-not-criminals
Duterte's drug war has lead to the deaths of thousands of people.  Some of whom might even have been innocent.  Some have even been children. All are dead. And the big fish are still swimming free. Shabu still sneaks through customs because the corrupt officials who run it are easily bribed.

http://www.mindanews.com/statements/2017/08/duterte-is-waging-war-against-his-own-people/
Duterte not focusing on the growing terror problem in Mindanao but instead putting all his effort into a drug war he promised would be over in 6 month and which he has since admitted he cannot win has led directly to the Marawi siege.
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/10/world/asia/duterte-philippines-isis-marawi.html?mcubz=1
The AFP, PNP, DND, and Duterte himself all admit that there was no failure of intelligence in Marawi.  They knew about it well in advance.  They allowed arms to flow into Marawi and turned a blind eye to the whole situation because of the peace talks with MILF. Duterte even dared Maute to attack Marawi. To date there has been no investigation into the government's wilful ignorance of intelligence reports which led to the siege.  Who knew what and when did they know it and why was nothing done? Without a proper investigation we will never know and these kind of mishaps will continue to happen.
https://www.rappler.com/nation/172777-isis-military-marawi-crisis-martial-law-calida
In the final analysis Duterte is a step backwards for the Philippines.

This coup, destabilisation, ouster plot business is not just fake news.  It is an outright lie.  And when an ex-AFP general starts spreading these lies because he cannot discern between truth and obvious falsehood you know the country is in big trouble.

http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/news/nation/625803/ex-afp-general-deletes-fb-post-on-destab-plot-after-learning-source-was-fake-news/story/
The Philippines is a failed nation and has been destabilised for quite some time. Communist insurgents and Muslim terrorists coupled with a corrupt and inept government have fuelled the destabilisation of the Philippines before, during, and after Marcos.  If Filipinos want a stable country there is a whole lot of work to do and blame shifting won't help one bit.

Help! I Can't Breathe

It was 2 o'clock in the afternoon and I was just warming up to lift some weights when all of a sudden smoke hit my nostrils and breathing became difficult.  So I grabbed my camera and followed my nose until I found the source of the smoke.

My neighbour around the corner had been cutting the weeds across from his house and instead of tossing them over the brick wall and into an empty field he decided to stink up the air by burning them.  Smoke and ash in the air. And billowing right in my direction!

How nice of my neighbour to foul up the air.

And how typically Filipino.

There is not a that day goes by but every morning is ruined with the smell of smoke secretly pouring forth from somewhere. Heaven forbid you want to open the window and let in the cool fresh morning air. Burning leaves, burning coals, motorcycle exhaust. There is no fresh morning air here because fires and vehicle exhaust stink it up all day long.

Ice Cream Wrapped in Newspaper

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

I'm also screaming about this:

Why? Why do they wrap up the ice cream in newspaper?  To prevent melting? Not gonna happen.  The paper gets wet and sticks to the plastic creating a mess.  At least it's something to read while you eat.

Sometimes the ice cream is so hard that a little melting can be a good thing. Ever try to scoop out hard frozen ice cream?  Not fun.

They even wrap up the little half-litre tubs of ice cream.

I can understand they think they are preventing melting but what about this:

Wrapping up Cornettos?  Now that is just impractical and a waste of paper.
