Child Trafficking in the Philippines via Facebook

The Facebook page babies home.ph is a clearinghouse for illegal adoption in the Philippines.

https://www.facebook.com/pg/Babieswelcomehome2017/
The lady who runs the page claims she is just a page.

But this claim is not true at all. She is a facilitator between birthmoms and would be adopters. Here is her first post from November 5th, 2017:

Here she is saying "We accept gay couples."

Who is "we"? If she is just a page and not a facilitator then how can she accept anyone? She is lying because she knows what she is doing is 100% illegal.

It is rather evident that whoever runs this page has a well connected network of buyers and moms and the demand is there.

But no matter how you cut it this is nothing short of human trafficking. The buyers are not going to be properly screened, birth certificates are likely to be forged as this is the way it is with nearly all paperwork in the Philippines, and the child is left in a dangerous situation. Remember the nurse who wanted a baby to trap her boyfriend into staying with her! Did this lady screen her? How did she get through?

The lady who runs this page has no idea who the people she adopts to are and she is operating wholly outside the law. She is also putting these children at risk for what amounts to a few thousand pesos. What is the value of a baby? 30,000 pesos?

The following is a partial list of names and Facebook page links of people who have commented and on the Babies Home.Ph page.  All of these people are either adopters, willing to adopt, or birth mothers willing to sell their babies for cheap. The pages for some of these people show them with children. I have no way of knowing if they bought those children or not. I was going to post the name sof every person who posted on this page but there are way too many.

I am concerned that shutting this page down would only drive this lady further underground or that another page would pop up in its place. The best thing to do would to be to entrap her by pretending to be a buyer. But that is out of my league.

Will the NBI and PNP step up to the task?

According to this man's profile he is from and lives in Islamabad Pakistan! This begs the question of how many babies have been trafficked overseas by whoever runs this website. How would this man even know about this page if international trafficking was not happening?

PNP Sponsored by Tanduay Rhum

Is Tanduay using the PNP in its advertising campaign?  It sure seems that way.

Is there any other country where a liquor company is allowed to use the police to promote their product? In the second picture the banner is not on PNP grounds and is just a tarp. But in the first picture there is an official PNP insignia, the sign is not a flimsy banner but is made of plastic and lit up internally, and in addition to this banner there is also, on the top of the PNP building, (which I did not take picture of), another huge banner advertising Tanduay. Is Tanduay paying the PNP for advertising space?

The marriage of the PNP with Tanduay is disturbing. Of course no one cares and I doubt either the PNP or Tanduay would understand what makes this advertising campaign completely inappropriate. How much crime is the result of drunkenness?

What's next? Cigarettes companies making banners for hospitals?

Facebook Page Illegally Selling Filipino Babies

While child trafficking for sex is a problem in the Philippines this case is a little different.

https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1031368/nbi-nabs-baby-seller-nurse-for-child-trafficking
The baby seller, identified as April Rose Ramirez, was reportedly selling the child of a married woman with another man. The nurse, Catherine Lagustan, wanted to buy a child to prove to her boyfriend that he got her pregnant.
Lagustan took to social media to search for a baby. She found the Facebook page Babies home.ph and closed the deal with Ramirez.
She reportedly shouldered Ramirez’ and child’s airfare from Cagayan De Oro to Manila. The agreement was the child will be bought for P30,000 and Ramirez will get a fee of P3,500.
However,  when they arrived at the  Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Sept.1o, Lagustan found out that the baby has a cleft palate. Though still willing to pay the agreed amount, she refused to take the child. As the child was crying incessantly, a certain Rose Antiquina volunteered to help calm the baby.
Lagustan and Ramirez left the baby to Antiquina while they bought a return ticket to Cagayan de Oro. Lagustan also gave Ramirez P26,000. Lagustan later went back to the place where they left Antiquina and the child. But when Ramirez did not return, Antiquina and Lagustan went to the Airport Police Department (APD) for assistance.
It turned out that Ramirez was also looking for them and they all met at the APD.
The airport police became suspicious that this incident involves child trafficking and decided to report the matter to the NBI.
From another source:
Initial reports said Lagustan and Ramirez managed to contact each other through the Facebook page Babies Home.ph which is found to be engaged in the illegal activity of selling babies.

A Facebook page engaged in selling babies?  That's right.

https://www.facebook.com/Babieswelcomehome2017/

Here is this page's justification for their activities:

Hello there , maybe some of us already watched the ted failon bullshits ,
And this is my point of view , this is for all those ignorant people out there . Listen? And listen closely .
1. Ted failon's news is a hoax , so as abscbn
2. Television will brainwash you
3. Adoption is illegal tru online ? Come on? Why? Did I post pictures of the said baby? Nope I didn't .
4. If this is illegal then why there's a lot of pulis officers lawyers and successful people here in this page at this moment , always leavinga msg , indicating to help them complete their family?
5. Yes it's illegal! If you didn't sign papers between u and the birthmom !
6. Yes it's illegal to ask money from the adoptors ! Here me out birthmoms the only legal by law is , 5,000 minimum . Mamatay na kayong mga may 50,000 ang demand !
7. You want it legal? Damn find a lawyer ! Easy!
8. If this is illegal why we already helped almost 20 families , and 10 LGBT , 3 individuals ?
9 .you cannot adopt at dswd if you are not :
- married
- not LGBT
- doesn't have a stable job
- right age with bank statement
- doesn't own a house
And especially ,
- if you don't have 200,000 pesos!
10. Why people , couples , gay choose private adoption and group pages? Because they have a fair fight when it comes to adoption .
AND THATS THE TRUTH!
Truth slaps .
Here is the government's response to illegal adoptions:
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in the Cagayan Valley Region warned the public particularly those who engaged in illegal adoptions facilitated through social media networks or other means.
Lucia S. Alan, DSWD OIC-regional director, said that only DSWD is mandated by the government to process legal adoption.
“No other entities are authorized or have the capacity to process such,” Alan said, adding that illegal adoptions were tantamount to child trafficking.
https://pia.gov.ph/news/articles/1008084
How awful is it that this is happening right on Facebook? Where is Mark Zuckerberg? And how awful it is for these helpless children who are caught up in this mess? A nurse wanting to entrap her boyfriend pays big money for a baby only to reject it, but still pay the money, because it has a cleft pallet! It's heartbreaking and sad beyond belief.

And then the owner of this page posts a diatribe basically admitting that what they are doing is illegal.

It appears most of this is originating in Mindanao. What a sick place that province is. Islamic terrorism and child trafficking. A cesspool of iniquity if ever there was one.

Tricycle and SUV Accident

Came across an accident a when back.

It's an SUV and a tricycle. It appears no one is hurt. The SUV is blocking that turn however causing an inconvenience for drivers and slowing down traffic.

A close up shows the driver of the SUV holding a piece of framing from his vehicle. Again clearly no one is hurt.

Now the cops are taking pictures of the accident scene. But why from so far away? I didn't see him taking any pics up close. He might have but not while I was observing. Maybe he has the lens zoomed in.

At this point the cops are handing out paperwork. The tricycle driver is holding a piece of paper which is probably an incident report or a summons. At this point the rain starts and the cops and the drivers all walk across the street to where there is an overhang. The vehicles remain blocking the intersection.

Why? Why if no one is hurt, if the damage is light, if pictures of the scene have been taken, why are these vehicles still there blocking the road? Both vehicles could easily pull forward and clear the lane.

Finally we get a close-up of the damage.  It looks like the tricycle scraped the SUV as there is a streak of blue paint among other scrapes. There is no indentation as if the SUV hit the tricycle. Being in a hurry to get out of the rain and the road I only took one picture of the tricycle which happens to not be the side which struck the SUV. From this angle anyway the tricycle looks fine but no conclusions can be drawn from it.

What happened and who is at fault I can only speculate. The tricycle likely turned at the intersection and hit the SUV either not seeing it or not caring that it was there and thinking it would stop. Tricycle drivers are a dangerous lot. They are slow and execute illegal turns all day.

The vehicle in the road is nothing new either. It's rude of course but that is the Philippines. Some repair shops don't even have have garages choosing instead to operate right in the street thus reducing a two lane road to one lane! When a jeepney breaks down the driver never moves it. Instead he pulls out the long seat from the back and hangs it out the rear door like a tongue, sets up a triangle, and then wanders off to wait for assistance. And when it comes they still won't move the jeepney. They will fix it right there in the middle of the street. Just more traffic hazards slowing everyone down. Thanks!

Fil-Ams Give Free Publicity to McDonald's With Poster Prank

These two friends had a great laugh hanging an unauthorised photograph of themselves in a Pearland, TX, McDonald's restaurant.

http://usa.inquirer.net/15378/fil-students-go-viral-sneaking-fake-poster-mcdonalds
Hanging on the wall of a local McDonald’s in Pearland, Texas, the poster — as legitimate as it looks — was not provided by the billion-dollar fast food chain, but by 21-year-old Fil-Am Jevh Maravilla who decided to pull off a genius prank of creating his own poster and hanging it up on the eatery’s wall.
“I noticed there was a blank wall at McDonald’s so I decided to make this fake poster of me and my friend,” wrote Maravilla in a viral tweet that has been retweeted over 250,000 times and liked over one million times as of Friday, September 7.
“It’s now been 51 days since I hung it up,” revealed Maravilla in his Monday, September 3 tweet.
The University of Houston student said that the need for diversity and representation of Asians in the media was the main inspiration for his stunt.
“If you haven’t noticed, there isn’t a lot of Asians represented in media,” Maravilla said in a YouTube video titled, “How to Become McDonalds Poster Models.”
“And hopefully one day I could see someone like me on the big screen,” he added, alongside another Photoshopped picture of himself on the movie poster of the latest blockbuster hit “Crazy Rich Asians.”
The idea came in mid-July when Maravilla and his also Fil-Am friend Christian Toledo were eating snack wraps at a McDonalds in Pearland, Texas.  Upon noticing the lack of Asians in the restaurant’s posters, the two thought it would be a great opportunity to add some new wall art.
In his YouTube video, Maravilla explained the process of taking the photo in front of their local neighborhood event center, editing the photo and having it printed at Office Depot, coincidentally finding a McDonald’s polo shirt at a thrift store for $7, pairing the shirt with a tie and badge with a title of “Regional Interior Coordinator,” and finally hanging the photo up.
The video has garnered over 900,000 views on YouTube as of Friday, September 7.
To BuzzFeed, Maravilla said, “I feel so thankful.  I didn’t know how much of a difference I can make in people’s eyes.  Even one tweet can change the world.”
This genesis of this "prank" is the complaint that there aren't a lot of Asians represented in the media. Newsflash to Jevh Maravilla...Asians are not the majority in the USA.  Caucasians and Negroes far out number Asiatics by a huge margin. Specifically in Pearland, TX the demographics are as follows:
The racial makeup of the city as of the 2010 Census was 62.0% White, 16.4% African American, 0.5% Native American, 12.4% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 6.0% from "some other race", and 2.7% "two or more races". The Hispanic or Latino population, including persons of any race, was 20.5% of the total, and non-Hispanic whites made up 48.8%. The city is majority minority.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pearland,_Texas#Demographics
Overall in the USA the demographics are as follows:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demography_of_the_United_States#Race
Asians compose only 5.2% of the entire population in the USA! Is it any wonder then that Asians are not represented as much in the media? No it's not but these guys have drank the social justice and identity politics kool-aid and think that faces in media must be so diverse as to always be representing people who like them.

So what do these guy do in response to this alleged underrepresentation of Asians in the media? They find a McDonald's polo at a thrift store and one of them wears it so he appears official and then they install a huge photograph of themselves eating McDonald's food.

Not only is that not a very funny prank but now with their stunt going viral they have given McDonald's free advertising. With the social climate in the USA as it is there is no way McDonald's will ever remove that unauthorised photo because if they do charges of racism will automatically be thrown at them and that will be the death knell of that particular McDonalds's store.

A better prank, in my opinion, would have been to have these two friends eating food from Burger King or Taco Bell or anywhere else but McDonald's.  Such a photo would have been subversive and very funny. It would have been a prank.

But as it is these two Fil-Am's have not broken any barriers or done anything funny but have only continued to play into the hands of modern day American identity politics. Honestly who cares if there are people that "look like you" in advertisements or TV or movies?  These are all means to sell you products!!  All companies care about ultimately is the bottom line. If people do not buy their products then the company will not make money.

Unbeknownst to them these two friends have become part of the capitalist corporate machine that rules America.

Ha ha ha ha!  Good one guys! But the joke's on you!

Brother Murders Brother Over Sack of Rice

Another Cain and Abel story from the Philippines.
http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1030547/farmer-shoots-brother-over-sack-of-palay
An argument as to who owned a sack of palay led to the shooting of a farmer by his older brother in Barangay Bialong here on Monday afternoon.
Investigator PO3 Albert L. Tajan, of the Mlang police office, said Danny Platon, 43, was shot by his older brother, Pepito, 47, both of Barangay Bialong, Mlang, North Cotabato,  about 1 p.m. after a heated argument.
Tajan said Danny and his twin brother Dante hauled one sack of palay from a drier owned by one of their nephews.
Pepito confronted the two and castigated them for taking what was not theirs.
This angered Danny and his twin brother who both punched Pepito.
During the fight, Danny reportedly picked up a wooden club to hit Pepito, who pulled out a handgun and shot his brother.
Relatives rushed the wounded Danny to the hospital while responding police arrested Pepito.
Pepito is now detained at the Mlang police jail facing for frustrated murder charges.
This happened in North Cotabato a region not known for being peaceful. Likely the gun was homemade. Likely there were deeper issues between these brothers. Given the violent response when confronted it seems Danny and Dante stole a sack of rice from their nephew and Pepito was not ok with that.

Now a man is dead and his brother is the one who killed him.

All over a sack of rice.
