Insurgency: CPP-NPA-NDF Completely Lost Meaning

Catarman, the capital city of Northern Samar, has finally been delcared insurgency-free.

https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1261464

The town of Catarman in Northern Samar on Tuesday was officially declared under a Stable Internal Peace and Security (SIPS) condition, signifying its status as “insurgency-free” after years of peace-building efforts.

The declaration recognizes the town’s success in achieving lasting peace and order through the efforts of the Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF-ELCAC) led by Mayor Dianne Rosales.

“This SIPS declaration is not the end but a new beginning — a pledge to preserve and give importance to the peace that we have achieved,” Rosales said during the declaration ceremony.

Lt. Col. Jayson Que, commander of the Philippine Army’s 43rd Infantry Battalion, said the declaration is the result of strong collaboration among the local government, security forces, and residents, adding that the challenge now is to sustain the peace that has been achieved.

The ceremony’s highlight was the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Catarman local government, the Philippine Army, and the Philippine National Police, symbolizing their shared commitment to maintaining peace and security.

A symbolic release of white doves and the signing of the wall of commitment capped the event, reflecting the unity of local officials, barangay leaders, and citizens in preserving stability and promoting development in the municipality.

Catarman, the provincial capital of Northern Samar, is the most populous town in the province with nearly 98,000 residents.

It seems they always release white doves when they have a ceremony declaring an area insurgency free.

Elsewhere in Matuguinao Samar, 124 NPA allies have renounced their ties to the insurgency.

A total of 124 allies of the New People’s Army (NPA) in Matuguinao, Samar have pledged allegiance to the Philippine government in a ceremony that signified a renewed commitment to peace and progress in the province.

Members of the NPA’s Batakang Organisasyong Pampartido (BOP) and Yunit Milisya (YM) have formally withdrawn their support to the communist movement through a ceremony on Friday.

The event gathered local government officials, military and police officers, and community representatives who celebrated what they described as a milestone for lasting peace in the area.

Mayor Aran Boller led the ceremony, underscoring the local government’s sustained efforts to help former rebels reintegrate into mainstream society.

“This declaration marks more than just an event — it is a renewed commitment to live in harmony, trust our government, and build a stronger, safer, and more progressive Matuguinao,” Boller said, adding that the local government remains steadfast in providing programs that promote livelihood and community development.

During the ceremony, the former BOP and YM members took their oath of allegiance to the Philippine government, publicly denouncing the communist group. Many of them expressed optimism about starting anew and contributing to peace and development efforts in their communities.

YM is utilized as immediate reinforcement in conducting tactical offensives. Equipped with low-powered firearms, its members are also tasked to monitor the movements and activities of government forces.

BOP, on the other hand, functions as a mass organization supporting the NPA. It support rebels by forming a mass base in communities, providing political and logistical support, and influence public opinion.

Boller described the event as “a symbol of renewed trust and shared purpose,” adding, “there’s no need for fighting anymore because we now have a government that cares for the people.”

Matuguinao is a fifth-class town in Samar province with a population of over 7,000 people. The town is 105 km. from Tacloban City, the regional capital.

While it was a big event they do not appear to have released doves.

The AFP has been inconsistnet when it comes to NPA recruitment. First they say there is no leadership and thus no ability to recruit. Then they say they are recruiting in schools. Now they are saying the youth have no interest in being recruited by the NPA.

https://smninewschannel.com/cpp-npa-ndf-completely-lost-meaning-influence-among-youths-afp/

The Armed Forces of the Philippines assured that the Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army – National Democratic Front has completely lost its meaning and influence.

According to the AFP, aside from the collapse of their guerrilla fronts, no youth from universities and state colleges are being recruited anymore.

‘’And that one is already set to be formally released to be declared zero weakened guerrilla fronts. This means there are only very few of them left, which is why they are considered weakened. With these statistics, they can hardly recruit new members to their ranks and no longer receive significant support. In fact, the support now leans toward the government,” AFP Spokesperson Colonel Francel Margareth Padilla said.

According to the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the ideology carried by the CPP-NPA-NDF— which deceived thousands of young people more than five decades ago—no longer holds relevance in the present time.

AFP Spokesperson Colonel Francel Margareth Padilla stated that the remaining influence of the group is gradually fading, as their numbers continue to decline due to the successive surrender of members and the dismantling of their organizations in rural areas.

The AFP also said that the government’s intensified campaign against recruitment in schools and various sectors of society has greatly contributed to the downfall of the CPP-NPA-NDF.

‘’Once we declare an area as insurgency-free, the AFP will continue to maintain forces to preserve the peace we have achieved. This is where our coordination and collaboration with other agencies to maintain this — with the NTF-ELCAC, the OPAPRU, and all other agencies working together on this effort,’’ she added.

Aside from the mentioned agencies, the Commission on Higher Education, student councils, and parents are also working together — resulting in a decline in the number of young people being enticed by the CPP-NPA-NDF’s propaganda.

Meanwhile, AFP Spokesperson Padilla also emphasized the alleged false information being spread by the CPP-NPA-NDF to create the impression that their organization’s operations are still ongoing.

‘’Our main emphasis is on misinformation and disinformation. Even if they are no longer so — and this is exactly what we are countering at this time. That’s why our call is for everyone to unite and help prevent the spread of misinformation and disinformation,’’ she added.

If there is no more recruitment of the youth by the NPA because of "the collapse of their guerrilla fronts" then it shouldn't be an issue. However, the issue of NPA recruitment in schools will likely be raised again.

The NPA, though it may have lost influence, is still deadly. One group is taking responsibility for killing a Negros village chief.

https://dailyguardian.com.ph/npa-claims-responsibility-for-killing-of-negros-village-chief/

The Armando Sumayang Jr. Command–New People’s Army Southwest Negros Guerrilla Front has claimed responsibility for the killing of a Purok 5 chairperson in Barangay Lina-on, Cauayan, Negros Occidental, on Oct. 14.

In a statement released Monday, Ka Andrea Guerrero, the rebel group’s spokesperson, said they imposed the penalty on the 34-year-old victim for allegedly enabling a raid on an NPA unit in the area last June.

The group also accused the victim of acting as a government informant against the revolutionary movement.

According to police, the victim was shot by five unidentified suspects outside her home that evening.

This is the most recent insurgency-related incident reported in the province since January.

Most of the incidents claimed by the NPA this year occurred in northern Negros.

In August, the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region announced the formation of special investigation teams to probe a series of killings reportedly carried out by the NPA across the region.

If the NPA is able to suss out who is an informant then they must have a capable network of operatives. The group remains a threat.

The God Culture: The Nations Are Demonic Hybrids

Timothy Jay Schwab who is The God Culture is off on a kick attempting to decipher Revelation 20. In a previous article his doctrine about the second resurrection was discussed. It was proven to be annihilistic, unbiblical, heretical, and a complete denial of the resurrection. This is because Tim teaches annihilationism which denies the wicked are punished in hell for eternity and there is no bodily resurrection for the righteous or the wicked. This new article, and the accompanying video, continues Tim's eisegesis of the text.

https://thegodculturephilippines.com/the-assumed-war-that-never-was/

Ignoring the obvious Lord of The Rings rip-off that is this AI picture, which makes no sense in the context of Tim's argument, let's dive head-first into Tim's handling of the text.

7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

i8 And shall go out to deceive the nations [intention?] which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle [intention?]the number of whom is as the sand of the sea [Humans living outside New Jerusalem? Is that Bible doctrine?].

9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

– Revelation 20:7-10 KJV

I have highlighted in bold the problems Tim has with these verses. In a nutshell Tim is casts doubt on verse eight to promote his annihilistic position that the wicked will be destroyed all at once on the same day rather than be resurrected bodily and cast into the lake of fire where they will suffer for all eternity.

1 The Verse Everyone Reads but Few Observe

For centuries, interpreters have inserted an entire battle narrative into Revelation 20 that simply does not exist.

The text never says Satan’s plan succeeds, never says mortals join him, and never describes combat.

It records only intent, motion, and immediate annihilation.

Those are Tim's presuppositions laid bare as I said. Sure the text never says "mortals join him" but it does say he went to gather the nations in order to deceive them and then they surrounded the camp of the saints. The nations are people as we shall see.

2 What the Text Actually Says

“Satan shall be loosed… and shall go out to deceive the nations… Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.”

Three verbs summarize the scene:

  • shall go out to deceive — intent; not fulfillment

  • to gather them together to battle — intent; not fulfillment

  • and they went up — movement across the earth, not demonstrating success in gathering but the intent to gather

Nothing more. No victory, no engagement, no struggle — only an attempted deception followed by judgment from above. It fails!

Now, if you are paying attention to the verses Tim cites you must be shaking your head. Intent but no fulfillment? Verses 9 and 10 say otherwise.

The nations were gathered and they surrounded the camp of the saints. Then "the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire." The means the devil succeeded in deceiving a mass of people to make battle. It does not matter if his plans were ultimately foiled, they went beyond mere intent and were fulfilled before the devil was destroyed. Are we even reading the same text?  How did Tim miss verses 9 and 10 which clearly contradict him?

Now, let's talk about symbols. Tim says there is an inserted assumption that the "they" in verse 9 are humans.  According to Tim this cannot be so because that would defile the new heaven and earth.

3 The Inserted Assumption

Traditional commentaries assume that “they” refers to human nations living through or after the thousand-year reign who somehow rebel again. But, is this people group ever recorded in scripture? No.

Yet:

  • Revelation gives no hint of mortal survival outside glorification at the First Resurrection. If so, the earth would be defiled once more.

  • The chapter never says men fought; only that fire devoured.

  • A post-millennial human rebellion would instantly defile the new heaven and earth—something Scripture never allows.

The insertion stems from imagination, not exegesis. A desire, (we do not understand), to insert war into the text which is not there. That same thinking manifests in another misunderstanding of the War in Heaven, which has never occurred, and will not, until the future Revelation 12 event.

This is where Tim's millennial assumptions fall apart. Tim is operating within a premillennial dispensationalist framework. Even if he does not believe everything that entails, that is his phronema. There are many problems that arise with premillennialism. However, if the millennial reign of Christ is the entirety of the Church age, no problems arise.

The historic Christian understanding of the millennium and the binding of Satan is that is the age in which we are currently we are living. By His work on the cross Jesus Christ bound Satan and now he cannot prevent the Gospel from spreading throughout all the world. Here is the doctrine as stated by Eusebius.

For from the time when the word of Gospel teaching began to pervade all nations, from that time the oracles began to fail, and the deaths of daemons are recorded.

https://www.ccel.org/ccel/pearse/morefathers/files/eusebius_de_07_book5.htm

Here is a modern restatement of that doctrine from the Gospel Coalition.

What is the binding of Satan talked about in Revelation 20? If we use Scripture to interpret Scripture, it would seem to refer to the inbreaking of Jesus’ reign and rule in his first coming. In Mark 3:27 Jesus says:

“But no one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house.” (Mark 3:27 ESV)

Jesus said this to explain his own ministry. He was able to exorcise demons, heal and save precisely because he had bound the strongman. Jesus said something similar in reference to the preaching of the 72 in Luke 10:

“I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.” (Luke 10:18–19 ESV)

According to Jesus, his first coming began an immediate process of binding, curtailing and limiting with respect to Satan’s power and authority such that the preaching of the Gospel would be able to proceed and bear fruit among the nations.

In Revelation 20 the Apostle John has a vision which seems to be saying essentially the same thing:

“Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain. And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while.” (Revelation 20:1–3 ESV)

According to Jesus, the binding of Satan began with Jesus’ first coming. According to Revelation 20 it will last 1000 years and have the effect of limiting Satan’s ability to deceive the nations.

https://ca.thegospelcoalition.org/columns/ad-fontes/what-is-the-binding-of-satan/

In response to the objections that evil still exists and the New Testament says Satan walks around like a lion seeking whom he may devour, it must be remembered that Revelation is a 100% symbolical book. The binding of Satan means he cannot hinder the Gospel, not that he has no power or has ceased to exist. Tim takes umbrage with another symbol to be found in Revelation, "the sand of the sea,"

4 Who Then Are “They”?

“The number of whom is as the sand of the sea.”

This echoes the demonic horde language of Revelation 9:16 (“two hundred thousand thousand”) and 16:13-14 (“spirits like frogs… to gather them to battle”).

The likely referent is not humanity rebelling again, but the hybrid and demonic host that followed Satan through the Tribulation — the same spirits cast out yet unrepentant, granted one final delusion before extinction. Let us not forget the context here is that of a delusion on satan's part.

Why is Tim focused on "sand of the sea?" Did he forget "they" is a reference to the nations in the previous verse and "sand of the sea" refers to those nations? So, the nations who are numbered like "the sand of the sea" are "the hybrid and demonic host that followed Satan through the Tribulation?" Interesting. But Tim offers no proof for that and all throughout the Bible "sand of the sea" is never a reference to demons
Genesis 32:12 And thou saidst, I will surely do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.

Joshua 11: 4 And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.

Judges 7:12 And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude

1 Samuel 13:5 And the Philistines gathered themselves together to fight with Israel, thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the sea shore in multitude: and they came up, and pitched in Michmash, eastward from Bethaven.

Isaiah 10:22 For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.

Jeremiah 15:8 Their widows are increased to me above the sand of the seas: I have brought upon them against the mother of the young men a spoiler at noonday: I have caused him to fall upon it suddenly, and terrors upon the city.

Jeremiah 33:22 As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.

Hosea 1:10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

Romans 9:27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:

Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

G.K. Beale, in his commentary on Revelation, writes:

But the multitudes here are not demonic forces but antagonistic peoples throughout the earth, primarily because they are identifIed as "nations," which elsewhere in the Apocalypse always refers to humans (e.g., 19:15).

The Book of Revelation - A Commentary on the Greek Text, pg. 1024

Tim has nothing to say about how the nations are actually demonic hybrids. Maybe that's in the video?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-ce1v_1rOA

No.  Sadly, the video is more AI slop with no relevant slides proving Tim's  assertions.

In the previous article I wrote that Tim neglects the final verses of chapter 20 which say the wicked will be cast into the lake of fire and stops with verse 9 which says they shall be devoured. That contradiction is now cleared up because, according to Tim it is not the wicked who will be destroyed in that verse but demons.

5 Fire Before Sword

Notice the divine order: fire came down before any sword is lifted.

This is not a war; it’s a verdict.

Heaven’s fire falls directly from Yahuah — not from angelic or human armies.

No battle is recorded because the rebellion never matures. It is merely intended and Yahuah knows the thoughts of all.

Evil is consumed, not contested. It is definitively not joined by mankind in this text. It is just not there.

Tim insists there cannot be a war with wicked men because that would defile the new creation.

6 The Logic of Purity

If a true war occurred:

  1. Saints would witness the defilement of the new creation.

  1. Another cleansing would be required.

  1. Yet Revelation 21 follows immediately with “a new heaven and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness.”

  1. This is John returning to the Day of Judgment which is consistent with all exegesis.

Thus, the only consistent reading is instant judgment without human corruption. He knows their intent.

Again, this is Tim reading his premillenial assumptions back into the text. He has to preserve his doctrines of no bodily resurrection and annihilationism. Neither of those doctrines are true. Furthermore, Tim is looking through the crooked lens of premillennialism which is a doctrine condemned by the Church thousands of years ago and revived in the 19th century by men like John Nelson Darby and C.I. Scofield.

This analysis is enough to cover this teaching without going over the video. Rather than offer any clarity on the 20th chapter of Revelation Tim is only muddying the waters. He is not only ignoring what the text says but he is inserting his own strange interpretations such as Satan deceiving not the nations but demonic hybrids. It's simply more obfuscating nonsense from Timothy Jay Schwab who is the God Culture.

The God Culture: There Is No Resurrection

Timothy Jay Schwab who is The God Culture has a new video in which he thinks he is correcting the misunderstanding of Revelation chapter 20. The alleged misunderstanding is that there is no second resurrection or resurrection for the wicked despite the Bible saying that very thing in at least three verses. This video is based on an article Tim published in September 2025. That article will be discussed first and then whatever is to be noted from the video shall be commented upon.

First Resurrection (Rev. 20:5–6): Resurrection to eternal life and reigning with Messiah – Believers only
Second Death (Rev. 20:14–15): Final, spiritual destruction in the lake of fire – Unbelievers only

The bolded section gives away Tim's major assumption. As I have shown in multiple reviews on this blog Tim teaches annihilationism. That is the doctrine the wicked will not suffer eternal punishment in hell but will be annihilated and no longer exist. The Bible absolutely does not teach that doctrine. It does in fact teach a resurrection to life and a resurrection to damnation. Both states are eternal.

Daniel 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

John 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Never forget the foundational principle that scripture interprets scripture. Simply because Revelation 20 does not have the exact phrase "Second resurrection" is no reason to discard that teaching because Jesus himself clearly taught it.

🧠 What Revelation 20 Doesn't Say

  • ❌ There is no such thing as a “Second Resurrection”. Second Death is not for believers and is not such.

❌ Sinners are not resurrected to reign. The do not live again thru the 1,000 years either because they were consumed on 1 day in scripture on the Day of Judgment.

❌ Messiah does not only reign for 1,000 years — His reign is eternal (Rev. 11:15). The 1,000 years is the bondage period for Satan and a Sabbath repose for believers. There is no such thing as a “Millennial Reign” as he rules forever from the Day of Judgment.

There are a lot of wrong assumptions in this section. First of all Tim is limiting resurrection to meaning reigning. The resurrected saints will reign with Christ. He then says that the wicked will be "consumed on 1 day in scripture on the Day of Judgement."  This is wrong. They are cast into the Lake of Fire. Tim stops at verse 9

And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

And neglects verses 11-15 which clearly say the wicked will be cast into the lake of fire.

11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

And what happens in the lake of fire? The wicked are tormented forever and ever.

Here is Tim's timeline of events in Revelation 20.

🧾 Revelation 20 Timeline Simplified

1 Martyrs resurrected — First Resurrection Rev. 20:4–5
2 Reign with Messiah — 1,000-year rest Rev. 20:4, 6
3 Satan released briefly, judged and gone Rev. 20:7–10
4 Final Judgment of the wicked Rev. 20:11–15
Second Death for the wicked Rev. 20:14–15

The real timeline is this:

  1. Satan is bound – 1,000 years begin

  2. Martyrs reign with Christ – First resurrection

  3. Satan is loosed – Gathers nations for rebellion

  4. Final battle – God destroys the enemies

  5. Satan is cast into the lake of fire

  6. Final judgment – All dead judged; Book of Life opened

  7. Death and Hell cast into the lake of fire

  8. Anyone not in the Book of Life is cast into the lake of fire

Tim is missing a lot of steps here. Most crucially Tim is missing the last step in the timeline which is the wicked are cast into the lake of fire. They are not annihilated.

Next, Tim goes through a lot of Bible verses as well as verses from apocryphal texts to prove his point. Here is his conclusion.

🔥 Conclusion: There Is One Day of Judgment — Not Many

  • There is one First Resurrection (for the righteous)
  • There is one Day of Judgment (for all)
  • There is no “second resurrection”
  • There is a Second Death — for the ungodly, after judgment occurring at the same time

👉 This harmonizes Yahusha’s words, the prophets, apostolic writings, and respected Hebrew apocalyptic texts. This is the manner in which Biblical exegesis should be executed attempting to reconcile the scriptures rather than a sound bite out of context.

Tim is correct that "Biblical exegesis should be executed attempting to reconcile the scriptures." Where he goes wrong is bringing in apocryphal books like Enoch and Jubilees to bolster his false assumptions. Again, that false assumption is the wicked will be annihilated rather than spend eternity in the lake of fire.

Now, let's examine the video and see if it contains anything worth mentioning.

The First Resurrection & The Second Death: Revelation 20 Fully Explained | The God Culture

There are in fact two things to mention from this video. The first is alleged nefarious textual additions by scholars.  This is a standard canard from magazine publisher, non-bible scholar, and admitted non-linguist (we are not linguists nor do we care to be) Timothy Jay Schwab.

15:01 Now, many English Bibles add the word again, lived not again, but it's not there. The Greek verb "anazao" appears only once in the sentence not twice and this is doctrinal insertion into the translation which really is never necessary, uh, and a poor practice for a translator.

This is reference to verse 5 of chapter 20:

But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

It's interesting that in this video Tim does not provide a slide proving his case from the Greek as he has done in the past. Instead, it's AI slop all they way through. A look at the Greek disproves Tim's claim that the word "anazao" does not appear twice in the verse. It most certainly does.

https://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/rev/20/1/t_conc_1187005

At least it appears that way. What the translators have done is broken up the word "anazao", G326, which is a compound word composed of G303 and G2198. The word literally means again live or live again. Here it is in Romans 14:9 translated as revived.
For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
A literal translation of the Greek of Revelation 20:5 is as follows:
The rest of the dead not lived again until shall have been completed the thousand years. This the resurrection first.

Hopefully it can be seen why words are "added" to the text and word order is changed when translated into English. It is for better comprehension. Note that there are arrows on the page. These indicate several things which can be read about here

Blueletter Bible has two words here, both Strong's G326, while elsewhere, such as at Bible Hub there is one word which is G2198. The problem here is the Textus Receptus only has "ἀνἔζησαν" , G326, while other Greek texts have "ἔζησαν", G2198, which is a different word. The first word means "lived again" while the second one "lived they." As I noted G326 has been broken apart into "lived not again" for a clearer translation. This verse in several parallels can be read here. While the exact phrasing is not the same for each Greek text, the meaning remains the same. It all depends on what Greek text is being used and since Tim is, as far as I know, a KJV guy, he should be going along with the Textus Receptus which has G326, "lived again."

What should be especially noted here is that using Strong's and other online Bible tools will not make one a sort of Hebrew and Greek expert as Tim claims.

“Today, a regular person can go to resources like Blue Letter Bible and become a sort of Hebrew expert legitimately.”

There are a lot of nuances which need to be sussed out and which cannot be learned without proper training.

This verse simply means the wicked did not live again until after the 1,000 years. That is how the verse has been translated in other versions.

New International Version
(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.

New Living Translation
This is the first resurrection. (The rest of the dead did not come back to life until the thousand years had ended.)

English Standard Version
The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection.

Berean Standard Bible
The rest of the dead did not come back to life until the thousand years were complete. This is the first resurrection.

Berean Literal Bible
The rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years shall have been completed. This is the first resurrection.

King James Bible
But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

New King James Version
But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

As ever, Tim's linguistic argument can and should be outright dismissed. The word "again" appears  in the text and to say otherwise is to lie.

The other place worth mentioning is what Tim says about resurrection bodies. This ties into his annihilistic assumptions. You see, the physical bodies of believers will not be raised.

18:40 In Hebrews 9:27 is very clear that men die once and then comes judgment. Some have asked about Enoch for instance and Elijah who remain alive according to all of scripture, especially Hebrews is very clear about that. Um, you know, the the thing is is that they're still going to die, right? But they're going to die. Their bodies are going to shed their bodies. Their spirits are going to meet Yahusha in the air. And that's the way that it works. And then comes judgment, which they will fare very well, of course. However, they will die. All men die. And there's nothing there that says otherwise.

Now, this is very telling because if all men die once, well, there cannot be this resurrection of bodies on the day of judgment. See, that that is really misunderstood because really, you know, your body would be resurrected only to die again when you receive your new uh heavenly body, which is the way that it works. Uh we don't need the old one. It's supposed to return to dust. It says that since Adam, I mean, we know that through scripture throughout, uh, that we return to dust, uh, our bodies and our spirit lives on, awaiting the one and only day of judgment in all of scripture.

There are two errors here. One is that Enoch and Elijah, who were both translated into heaven, will return to earth, die and receive spiritual bodies. I have covered this before and you can read about it here. The second error is the denial that our physical bodies will rise. Take note that Tim does not even begin to describe what a heavenly body is. Is it something ethereal and non-corporeal?

The fact is the Bible does say our physical bodies will rise. Jesus Christ is our example and he rose with the same body he laid down. That same body is now in heaven and will remain for all eternity. This is the principle Paul is referring to in 1 Corinthians 15.

42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Our physical bodies shall be raised and transformed but they will be the same physical bodies we had in this life. That is what resurrection means. Tim's explanation for this resurrection, which is not in this video or article, is the doctrine of soul sleep. When a man dies his spirit goes to sleep in one of three chambers inside the earth.

41:50 He places them in His chambers. That's where He set aside space for such in 3 categories we know from Enoch. They are not evil, yes there is one for sinners, but the chamber is not evil. It's not hell. Within the earth. Enoch said that there are 3. 1 for righteous, 1 for sinners, and 1 for martyrs who still cry out and He hears them.

This is totally wrong because, as Paul notes, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. The spirit is alive and does not need resurrecting.

Being given a new heavenly body is not a resurrection, it is an act of new creation. In essence Tim is denying the resurrection when he says our original bodies will not rise. This is anti-christian heresy beyond the pale of anything even remotely Biblical.

Even Job affirmed the resurrection:

Job 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

27 Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

Job says in no uncertain terms he will see God in his flesh. That is the very same flesh which worms had destroyed after his death.

This is a brief examination of Tim's latest video concerning Revelation 20. He says he published it because the Feast of Tabernacles is upcoming and the resurrection is foreshadowed by the Feast of Tabernacles. This is false as well because it really foreshadows the incarnation. You can read about that here. The fact is Tim teaches the heretical doctrine of annihilationism and ultimately denies there is any resurrection when he says our bodies will not rise. All in all it's another brick in the wall of bad theology being built by Timothy Jay Schwab who is The God Culture.
