Residential Fires October, 2026

This is a reported list of residential fires in the Philippines for October, 2026. The Bureau of Fire Protection is on record saying the fire codes does not apply to residential areas which is why so many of them go up in flames during a fire. Being made of light materials all it takes is one spark to cause massive devastation.

A 51-year-old woman suffered burns while several pet cats were rescued after a fire swept through a residential area in Las Piñas City early Thursday, Oct. 22, affecting 31 individuals from seven families.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Las Piñas said the fire broke out shortly before 1 a.m. along Villareal Street in Barangay Manuyo Uno, destroying seven houses and causing an estimated P1.2 million in property damage.

The woman sustained burns on her left arm while attempting to escape from the burning houses.

Despite the rapid spread of the flames, firefighters and volunteers managed to rescue several pet cats trapped inside the affected houses.

Fire Inspector Alberto Loresca Jr., chief of the Intelligence and Investigation Unit of BFP Las Piñas, said the pet owners immediately informed responding firefighters about the animals, allowing rescuers to bring them to safety.

He said all the cats reported by their owners were safely evacuated from the burning structures.

The BFP said the flames appeared to have started near the roof of a house of one of resident before quickly spreading to neighboring structures due to strong winds.

The fire spread rapidly because most of the houses were constructed from light materials, giving residents little time to save their belongings.

Loresca said firefighters encountered difficulties reaching the burning houses because of the narrow alleyways in the densely populated residential area.

A total of 31 fire trucks from the BFP and volunteer groups responded to the incident.

The fire reached the first alarm at around 1 a.m. and was extinguished at approximately 2 a.m.

Fire investigators are still determining the exact origin and cause of the blaze, which left an estimated P1.2 million in damage.
