This is a reported list of residential fires in the Philippines for July, 2025. The Bureau of Fire Protection is on record saying the fire codes does not apply to residential areas which is why so many of them go up in flames during a fire. Being made of light materials all it takes is one spark to cause massive devastation.

A fire that broke out in a residential area in Sampaloc, Manila on Wednesday morning destroyed 70 houses and left 200 families affected, according to the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO).

Citing initial reports from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Manila DRRMO Emergency Operations Center EJ Balabbo told INQUIRER.net that most of the houses were made of light materials. He added that the estimated damage amounted to P300,000.

Balabbad said that while there were no injuries and fatalities recorded, a 54-year-old woman lost consciousness due to a panic attack. The patient is not in stable condition, he added.

Balabbad also said that the Manila Social Welfare and Development has provided food to the affected families.

According to the report of BFP-National Capital Region, the fire occurred at corner of M. Dela Fuente and Firmeza Streets in Barangay 448, Zone 44.

The BFP-NCR said that the first alarm was raised at 12:34 a.m., and escalated to the second alarm at 12:41 a.m.

The blaze also reached the third and fourth alarm at 12:46 a.m. and 12:54 a.m. before it was declared under control at 1:44 a.m.

The fire was extinguished at 5:44 a.m.

The Pasay Bureau of Fire and Protection reported that two people were injured when a fire razed five houses in the city on Wednesday, July 2.
The fire started at the third floor of a house being occupied by Juanito Maca at around 6:27 a.m., located along Daopalad St., Barangay 201, Pasay City.
Arson investigators identified the injured residents as Julie Ann Maca, 24, and Ronniel Labrilla. They were immediately given first-aid treatment by the responding ambulance for abrasion on the left arm.
The BFP said 24 fire trucks immediately responded and placed the fire under control at 7:24 a.m. and declared fire out at 7:56 a.m.
The BFP said the damage was placed at P75,000. It is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.

Two fire volunteers were injured in a blaze that gutted around 15 houses in a residential area in Barangay 375, Tambunting, Sta. Cruz, Manila, on Friday, July 4. 
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said an 18-year-old volunteer sustained lacerations and abrasions on his left leg, while another volunteer suffered a laceration on the nape. Both were given immediate medical attention. 
The BFP said the blaze started at 2:09 p.m. in a two-story house made of light materials. It was raised to the second alarm at 2:16 p.m. 
The fire escalated to the third alarm at 2:45 p.m. and was declared out at 4:36 p.m. 
The fire displaced around 25 families, or 50 individuals, and caused an estimated P130,000 in damages. 
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.

A first alarm fire that broke out inside a house in San Mateo, Rizal, killed a 60-year-old woman along with her daughter and son-in-law early Sunday, July 6. 
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire started at the victims’ two-story house in Barangay Ampid 1. It was raised to the first alarm at around 2 a.m. and declared fire out at around 2:50 a.m. 
According to responders, the 30-year-old daughter and her husband were found inside the bathroom, while the elderly woman was discovered on the stairs. All three were allegedly trapped inside. 
Meanwhile, the elderly woman’s 64-year-old husband managed to escape by jumping from the terrace. However, he sustained first-degree burns and is currently being treated at a hospital. 
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.

Seven people were injured when a fire swept through a residential area in Barangay Addition Hills, Mandaluyong City on Saturday, July 5.  
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the injured individuals included a 19-year-old who sustained a head injury, a 60-year-old woman who was found unconscious, three people with lacerations and abrasions, a 36-year-old hypertensive woman, and a 48-year-old woman who experienced numbness in her left hip and blurry vision. 
They are all now in stable condition.  
Based on the BFP's incident report, the fire, which destroyed several houses in Welfareville Compound located behind Nuebe de Pebrero Elementary School, began at 11:24 a.m.  
It reached the second alarm at 11:33 a.m., the third alarm at 11:40 a.m., and the fourth alarm at 12:49 p.m. 
Firefighters declared the blaze out at 3:49 p.m.  
Arson investigators are still determining the cause of the fire and the extent of property damage.

A fire razed 10 houses and affected 25 families in Barangay Ususan, Taguig on July 17.
The incident happened at 0434 Block 1 in Sitio Pusawan in the barangay, the Taguig City Fire Station reported.
Firefighters raised the first alarm at 1:04 p.m. before the blaze was put under control at 1:42 p.m. and put out at 3:01 p.m.
The fire damaged P300,000 worth of properties and affected 94 individuals. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A total of 10 fire trucks, 36 water tanks from volunteer groups and local government units, a rescue truck and three ambulances responded to the incident.
Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano visited the affected families at an evacuation center.

A 7-year-old girl allegedly died of suffocation after being trapped inside the bathroom of their house when a fire broke out in a residential area in Golden Acres, Barangay Talon Uno, Las PiƱas City, on Sunday afternoon, July 20.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire was raised to the first alarm at 3 p.m. and escalated to the second alarm at 3:03 p.m. due to densely packed houses made of light materials.
In a radio interview, Barangay Talon Uno Chairwoman Irene Gallardo said the 7-year-old victim was found inside the bathroom of their house with the faucet still running.
She said responders who were able to get inside the house reported that the child died of suffocation and that the body was not burned.
Gallardo added that the child’s parents admitted they had left her alone and locked the door as they had to go somewhere for a while.
The BFP said three other individuals were injured in the incident.
Gallardo also said around 50 families were affected and are temporarily staying at the Golden Acres Covered Court.
The BFP said they are still determining the number of affected houses.
Firefighters were able to put the fire out at 4:43 p.m.
Arson investigators are still investigating the total cost of damage and the cause of the fire.

A fire broke out in a residential area in Libis Baesa, Barangay 160, Caloocan City on Monday, July 28.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire was raised to 1st alarm at 1:00 a.m. and escalated to 2nd alarm at 1:10 a.m.
The blaze was declared under control at 3:04 a.m. and was extinguished at 4:15 p.m.
No injuries or fatalities were reported.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire and have yet to determine the total amount of property damage.

More than 100 families were displaced after a fire broke out in Barangay 93, Capulong, Tondo, Manila, on Tuesday, July 29.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire originated on the second floor of a two-story residential structure constructed from lightweight materials.
The fire quickly intensified and spread to nearby structures, prompting fire officials to raise the first alarm at 3:55 a.m., and was followed by the second alarm at 4:03 a.m.
The third alarm was declared at 4:12 a.m. and under control at 5:35 a.m. 
It was finally declared out at 7:03 a.m. 
Initial reports indicate that around 30 houses were burned, affecting an estimated 100 families or approximately 200 individuals.
The BFP estimates the damage at around P100,000.
Despite the extent of the destruction, no fatalities or injuries were reported.
A total of 43 fire trucks responded to the scene, with 13 coming from the BFP and 30 from volunteer fire brigades.
Four ambulances also arrived to assist, including one from the BFP and three from volunteer groups. 
The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation. 
Authorities continue to assess the situation and provide assistance to the displaced families.

An 86-year-old man was injured in a house fire in an exclusive subdivision in Muntinlupa City on July 29. 

In a report, the Muntinlupa City Fire Station said the fire started at about 2:42 p.m. from a house on Trese Martires Street in Alabang Hills Village Phase 1 in Barangay Cupang. 

Firefighters raised the first alarm at 3:04 p.m. and the second alarm at 3:13 p.m. before the blaze was put out at 4 p.m. 

The injured was identified as Luisito, 86, the house owner, who suffered burns on the right arm and right foot. He was given first aid by the Muntinlupa City Fire Station before being rushed to the Asian Hospital and Medical Center for further treatment.

The origin of the fire is under investigation. 

The Muntinlupa City Department of Disaster Resilience and Management (MCDDRM) deployed a search and rescue team and an ambulance while the fire station sent four fire trucks, an ambulance and rescue vehicle. 

Barangays Cupang, Alabang, Bayanan and Putatan, all in Muntinlupa, deployed fire trucks, water tankers and an ambulance.

Twenty-three families lost their homes in a fire that destroyed 21 houses in Barangay 97, Cabawalan, this city, on Thursday, July 31.
Initial investigation disclosed that the fire originated from unattended cooking in the kitchen of one of the houses.
The fire immediately spread to neighboring houses made of light materials and was declared out at around 12:34 p.m. with no reported casualties.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing and damage to property is yet to be determined.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office has distributed food packs, utensils, hygiene kits, and sleeping gear to victims.
CSWDO head Fe Chona Bahin shared that they have recommended providing financial assistance to the victims.

Two siblings were injured after a fire broke out along a residential along F. Bautista Street in Barangay Marulas on Thursday, July 31.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)–Valenzuela, the victims were a 13-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl. One of them reportedly sustained second-degree burns, while the other suffered minor injuries.
The fire started at 11 p.m. and was raised to the second alarm at 11:22 p.m.
The blaze was extinguished at 12:18 a.m. on Friday, August 1.
The BFP reported that eight houses were completely destroyed, displacing eight families or around 40 individuals. The fire damaged an estimated P1 million worth of property.
Authorities said the fire may have started from a candle left unattended and possibly played with by children. However, investigation is ongoing to determine the real cause of the blaze.
The affected families have been temporarily housed in Barangay Marulas Hall, where they received immediate assistance from the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
The incident added to the hardship of the affected residents, many of whom are still recovering from recent flooding in the area, BFP said.

That is 12 reported incidents for July. Remember, these are only the major fires reported in the national media. Residential fires are up all across the nation and they do not all make the news. This is the tip of the iceberg concerning the real situation in the Philippines.
