In accordance to the government's PUV modernization program, modernized passenger jeeps run on a Euro 4 engine considered to be environment-friendly and fuel-efficient compared to that of older models.
Additional features installed to ensure passengers a safer and and more convenient commute include air conditioning, GPS navigation, a speed limiter, CCTV and dashboard cameras are also installed.
Air conditioning? CCTV? A safer and more convenient commute? That's no jeepney! That's a minibus! They might as well forgo jeepeny's altogether and upgrade to a modern day bus system with planed routes and all that. What's worse is this minibus has no character. It's just a boring old box on wheels designed to take people places. When these contraptions have fully replaced the old jeepney's will we all pine for the days of old when the smoke belching, seat rattling, rust buckets used to clog the streets? At least they had character. And interesting artwork.
